TV Series

I like well constructed espionage and that sort of stuff. I’m a fussy bugger with this sort of stuff. Slow Horses was great. Tinker, tailor was classic. For me, espionage needs a slow boil with spikes along the way.
Anyway, I’ve just got into Berlin Station. 3 series. Just done S1 and enjoyed it. No cheap tricks. Just starting S2 with an S3 to look forward to if S2 pans out ok
I'm watching The Night Manager S2.
Pretty damn good!

Out of interest, how do you think Tinker Tailor movie compared to the TV series ?

Very tabloid. The movie was very good, but the tv series is like comparing an fa cup final win to a premier league win ( with a Sergio winner)

Just watched ep10 season 2 of landman. Talk about last ditch recovery, great episode, why couldn't the series have been more like this?
Sets the scene for series 3 nicely.
Not watched it yet, that's tomorrow nights viewing but fuck me, demi Moore cami character, can she please have a stroke or something.
The most irritating character I've seen in a while.
Muffin the mule is a better actor/actress than her

Without giving anything away, she's hardly in this episode, which vastly improves it.
This is how the show should have been from the start. All of a sudden we have multiple storylines, plots, schemes, and an actual dynamic flow.
Tommy becomes the character we all wanted to see from the beginning, the smart problem solver, the savvy oil guy surrounded by idiots and doubters. The guy that was destined to be great.
I wanted a dallas, for the 21st century.
The last scene hopefully cements the next series, as this could actually turn out to be brilliant if produced correctly.

The Beast in Me.

Clair Danes is a wonderful actress.

Very good.
toyed with watching this so have it a start yesterday after reading this thread, couldn't quite get my head round it or see where it was going admittedly that was after only 15 mins but it grabs you and draws you in after the first episode, watch 2 so far and finding it pretty good...

Anything that has Harlan Coban's name on should be avoided at all costs
Agree. I watched the first couple of series from him and they were shit. The last one i think i hated every character they were all pricks and its very formulaic. You know who didnt do it cos its the person they spend the first 3/4 of the series making look guilty.

Sounds like Tommy is the Nunes of the series.

Just finished the latest slow horses. Mixed feelings. Such good characters and Lamb is just a brilliant part, but felt the story was a bit piss poor this time. Almost like they have run out of ideas and just fumbled together a plot. Didn’t really ever get going and by the time it did it was the final episode. Shame as it was still a bloody good watch but could have been a lot better.

Enjoyed the first episode of a Knight of The Seven Kingdoms, feels like the early seasons of GOT but with lower stakes. I've read the dunk and egg books and think they have the casting spot on.

As mentioned earlier in the thread there is a pretty bizarre shitting scene early on. But there are a pair of knockers and decent ones he wasn't paying enough attention to the scene where he's speaking to the brass in the tent.
