United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Genuinely heard one of the worst conversations on the train home, two obnoxious red bastards talking about the game. Had to control myself not to tell the fuckers to shut the fuck up. You’d think they’d finished above us for 13 years straight, not the other way around.
Was one of them Gary Neville?
In Rag world it's still the 1990's, they're relevant and every player wants to sign for them.
Meanwhile back in the real world it's 2026, Manchester City have been Premier League Champions 7 times since the Rags last title and England International Marc Guehi who could have joined a number of top clubs signed for Manchester City today saying he has just signed for the best club in the country.

Much of what you say is how I feel except for the mindless violence bit. You know as well as I do that any indiscretion by one of our lads is going to be a red card, if not by the ref then by VAR
Oh Yeah most definitely

I was meaning more for the way that these incidents often change games, not dissimilar to City being outplayed and overrun at Old Trafford in 91-92, until Neil Pointon almost decapitated Giggs.

Suddenly with 10 men, City finally found some energy and almost won.

Dalot should have been red carded but he got away with it because of this myth that a good referee doesn't give out early red cards.

Delusion is a very common trait amongst them, as well as low IQ and the Ryan Giggs cross eyed impediment

Your point would be more valid, if the tactical f*ck-up wasn't the identical one that we watched throughout last season - high line with totally unsuitable personnel to sustain it.
At what point would you say posters are justified in being ticked off about repeating the same mistakes, then?
And what do you expect to see change, going forward?

Edit: I forgot to point out that this is the post-match thread. That's probably why people are still 'going on about Saturday' in it.
As i said, posters need to have their moan, park it up and move on.

one genuinely looked like a little scrawny rat fucker, just reminding myself of his face his raising my blood pressure. You realise how much you hate the bastards when they beat us. They’re the worst winners.

So one of them was Gary Neville.
This is why they are universally despised by the majority of fans of every other club in the country.
Whenever I speak to fans of other clubs, I hear similar things about their obnoxious followers.

I was over the result pretty quickly but I'm getting more and more wound up by the response from rags in the media.

You'd think they were top of the league and the last decade of City dominance hadn't happened.

All led by neville and co.
Their old swagger and being louder gobshites is back because they beat ickle citeh.
Oh I remember when they used to laugh at us and say we didn't matter to them.

Oh how the tables have turned.

Yep, one posted in an old work WhatsApp chat, from my old job, some tweet by some other rag twat saying “Pep’s spent this blah blah and he still needs Semenyo and Guehi so isn’t that good etc.” bollocks. A Preston fan responded “won a game have we? Pathetic”.

Chelsea and West Ham fan at work today said they were sick of them and asked when the parade was.

I’ve got a Glaswegian mate who hates them more than he hates Rangers these days.

We started it but the rest of the country cottoned on.

The prick needs fucking off sick to death of hearing him screaming in the background when he’s doing a rags game and they score. His dickhead scouse bezzy mate does it aswell
There is another option, if you have a firestick go to Albanian channels and select Supersport. You may have to adjust sound setting to English but no spitty or rat its Townsend,Beglin,Brownie. There is no pre match, half time or post match bollocks,it's the Premier League channel syndicated. On Sport channel 2 they do the features and look ahead to games stuff. Also on satellite but more equipment required to get it.

They've always been arrogant gobshites, this is the Rag DNA the likes of Neville, Rooney and other Rag shills keep banging on about.

Their behaviour since Saturday reminded us what a bunch of deluded twats they are. Makes it all the sweeter when the penny drops once they realise they're still irrelevant non entities who can only raise their game a handful of times per season.

No matter whether it's when we were shit plummeting down the leagues or winning the real treble or 4 in a row, Rags have always taken the time to go out of their way to tell us how much they're not bothered about us and that we don't matter.

How times have changed , our aims for the season were 40pts , giving the Rags a bloody nose by taking at least 2,3,4.6 points off them a decent cup run sometimes even a quarter final , now its the Rags turn , their fans are elated if they can put a spanner in the works and stop us winning another league title, Let them have their day in the sun , we have an important Champs league game , couple of winnable league games and a 2nd leg of the Carabao cup for a trip to Wembley.
The Rags have a decent chance of getting in the conference league to play a team of Romanian/Latvia waiters , all about perspective , this season was always going to be a bit of a transition , next season and possibly Pep's last , i think this team will develop into serial winners.

I’ll look into that mate cheers

Agreed, after all the personal reminders on Facebook I chose to congratulate the lad that works in the Co-op in Weaverham. He said that pep should have played Haaland, and where was cherki with his going to kill us performance? Also said that they will win the league maybe next year. Don’t know why I bother.
In the Rags defence
After watching Haaland Saturday it's possible not to realise he was playing up until him getting dragged off.

Our worst ever performance under Pep and it was obvious after fifteen minutes that something was wrong, with our slow makeshift defence (none of whom started the previous derby) exposed by United's lightening counter attacking pace.

Almost a reversal of 20 years ago when United had one eye on their midweek CL fixture and Stephen Jordan was in Ronaldo's face from the very first minute
This time it was United kicking City to bits and City resorting to petty shirt pulling when Taylor was obviously letting a few challenges go unpunished

I know that it's not the accepted norm to encourage mindless violence, but every now and then you need a bit of a Ben Thatcher mindset to accidentally elbow Mainoo in the face in the first few minutes and then see whether the ref is brave enough to make the right call.

Dalot should have been red carded but I honestly don't think it would have made that much difference as even when we had a couple of 3 v 2 opportunities, we still chose the wrong option or overhit the pass to the spare man

Also, too much slow recycling with Doku preferring to pass to the less skilful Ake than running directly at his opponents

Anyway things could have been a lot worse
Your correct
We could be Spurs fans.

Simple answer is don't watch Neville and co. My life improved once I stopped watching any of our British sports media.

It's all opinions, of course, but I haven't read a single post from those in your court actually justifying the high line? That's what annoyed lots of us, more than any individual performance. We could have had a front line of Messi, Ronaldo and Maradona and it would still have been open house every time we lost the ball.

If one of you could just explain why we're all wrong - considering that everybody agrees we have injuries and obviously the poor City players are just so much more tired than everybody else's - then you could stop the arguments in a single post.

I don't want Pep out - I want him back! You know, the innovative Pep who switched Stones to a hybrid CB/Midfielder that was instrumental in closing out the treble season? How can the guy who pulled that stunt be the same one who sat there clueless on Saturday, ignoring what was obvious to everybody else within the first 5 minutes?

Just complaining about 'moaners' without pointing out why their argument is wrong is not going to change anybody's mind, is it?
Not sure if the response is for me because its stating things I haven’t said or highlighted. Not complained about moaners other than response being OTT.
Was a shit show on Saturday, that I can agree on. Let’s hope there’s a reset and we move onwards and upwards.
No, not having a go at you specifically but generally commenting upon the difference between those on your 'side' and 'us', if you like.
As I see it, the unhappy ones give their specific reasons for being so, but the ones calling them 'entitled' (that old chestnut) or impatient don't counter any of their arguments (for some, it was the lineup, for me and others it was the tactics) but just throw out 'we're in transition' or similar.
We were in transition when we played arsenal, but we approached that with a different mindset because the circumstances demanded it. We did no such thing on Saturday.

This thread is barely any different to those during the dark times of January '25 - we aren't transitioning very quickly, are we?
not sure a defensive set up with that back 4 would have changed the result. I’m giving them benefit of doubt re-performance and energy.
Seen enough signs of progress personally. See what response we get next game

Our Manchester based rags brother-in-law was giving my wife heaps when she phoned to speak to her sister on Sunday. I sent him an email yesterday with the subject line "Grimsby and Brighton" - nothing else.

Still got a massive foom on about this.

Being in that stadium , sat 2 seats away from the the red bastards, ranks pretty low in my City supporting life.
And ive seen some shite.

I was there in the united end when they beat us 5-0, they laughed at us that night.
They were laughing again on saturday.

I thought them days were gone but didnt account for erling and co strolling around a football pitch.

David brightwell, yes. But not this lot
