Kalvin Phillips

True.

Footballers probably spend 95% of their lives in pain too.

For every VAR decision missed, they’re been trodden on, scratched, kicked etc.

Look at Van Hecke vs Haaland or Tonali vs Bernardo. Nasty shit happens all the time without it being red card worthy.

Even Slabhead got a new kneecap tattoo from Erling at the weekend.
I remember when we had to play utd in the league, on Saturday, and the Chavs in the FMC on Sunday.
Kenny Clements apparently said it's Sunday lunchtime before he could start moving again.
He said 'the 'little bangs' into each other; actually they leave you really sore and bruised.

We haven't got a clue.
Also the mental side of the game most be really difficult.
Everyone is waiting to jump on you for a mistake. Today it's everywhere.
I'm emotional and posted in the Rico Lewis thread straight after the derby.
Honestly, what gives me that right?
He's a bloke (actually a relatively young lad) and I'm criticising his work.
And there are some (lad in Block 241) who has an agenda against certain players, even before they've made a pass!

Maybe KP is happy not playing. Can't blame hm. Can't criticise him.

Phillips is a joke,
City has fallen on its arse and can do nothing about it, even making him train with the kids or make him play for the EDS there is nothing City can do, even offering him a pay off to release him and become a free agent he will laugh at us and say sorry i will be more than happy to pick up my wage until the contract is up

Then he’s no different than any of us, in his situation. If my bosses treated me like shit, and then offered me a payment to leave. It would have to be one that I couldn’t turn down. So for that to happen with Kalvin it would probably take 80% of his current deal for him to go. And so it should.

I’d be looking at the people who thought he would be an asset, before blaming the player

It’s hard to believe that a former International cant fill in when we have an injury crisis sometimes.

Either City has ruined him, he’s constantly injured or his skills have fallen off a cliff like we can’t imagine.

Its an absolute mystery. Will probably be revealed when he had officially retired
The only two players I can think of who went a little the same way were Dele Alli and Stephen Ireland.
Both just no longer wanted to play football but that was all they knew.

More likely he just wasn't that good in the first place. Mix that with being given a whopper of a contract and he's probably happy to just on his arse earning his money.

He is fit and able to, he’s upholding his end of the deal. Pep just don’t want to play him

Watching some of our players against Its I think some who saw new signings felt there was nothing to gain and their number was already up.
Why bust a gut if their future was already decided?

Makes you realize what a truly great manager Southgate is, he made Kalvin an exceptional player, good enough to make Manchester City pay lots of money for.
United should snap him up , can't do any worse than Amorin.
:)

What's mad as two left feet is that pep is never questioned about him on every press conference...folk always ask about the current injuries and he's never mentioned so must be fit as such ....peps never been asked about him even in the injury crisis were currently in...it's as tho he's never signed ... He's never talked about on a potential loan out again...absolute bizarre situation for player and club

He’s in the training photos every day

All he has to do to get his £150k a week is attend and take part in training as required, be prepared to play if selected (if fit), stay within expected weight level, and not do anything to bring the club into disrepute.

As it stands, the worst that can happen to him is a maximum 2 weeks wages fine for being overweight.

Easiest £7m a year on the planet.

I often wonder this, and can only think that maybe he failed to understand, process and retain the information of what is expected of him, which has spiralled into a loss of confidence and the ability to do the basics right.
