We got a new coaching staff, 4/5 new signings, and it’s the same poor defensive problems. I used to deny it being a deep problem but the more you look at it. It must be.
 
I posted after the United game how can you have 3 midfielders on your books, Cherki, Foden and Reiindjers on your books let alone play them in the same side that lack pace, cannot tackle and are physically weak. Our supposed re-build is disastrous
 
We just look devoid of ideas. To a man, maybe Cherki and Rodri excepted, no one seems to want to play a direct defence splitting ball, it’s all percentage sideways backwards passing.

That said it’s easier said than done with that eleven man low block we invariably come up against, but come on it’s not a surprise. Have a plan fucking B.

It’s shit to watch, and one of the only times we were even slightly more direct, we score.

And our set pieces, fuck me we are shit. Heading practice needed.

I"m not going to lie, I really did fear a 5-1 or even 6-1 smacking, especially after Rodri was sent off. And therefore, I suppose, Pep's heaviest defeat at any of his three clubs(?) in European competition.

But this is not the game that makes me angry. It is that cretinous management of the Leverkusen game. At that point, Haaland and Foden were still both in some kind of form. With a change of a couple of players, we would probably have won that, and be in a significantly different position. Now Pep's got to keep playing Haaland and Foden, both of whom are now direly out of form. And need to be dropped. It is really on him.
By the way, I calculate that we will almost certainly be out of top third by the end of tomorrow night, unless we get a truly astonishing run of results going our way. That's the position we're in.

Not just beaten, but comprehensively outplayed. By a really limited team.
No excuses. Just a fucking horrible performance from everyone, team and management.

That maybe so, but come on that was truly pathetic. Saturday was bad. However its was a derby , new manager bounce, loads out etc etc. That tonight was a disgrace. From the manager down. No one can be criticized for being critical of the shite they've just been served up tonight.

Started playing when we were 2-0 down whereas that was Bodo/ Glimts biggest ever game. Did the players not know what to expect?

The attitude at the start of the game though was complacent and Bodo took advantage.

Everyone will be angry now but we have to get behind the team when it is difficult. Generally over the years, the attitude has been good.

Im thoroughly fed up of the sulkers too - both Haaland, Foden need dropping and when they've come out of their strop and starting playing well in training then they can come back. Lewis sadly is not good enough.

Reijnders flits in and out - bit of a lightweight.

Yes Cherki put a shift in.

It’s weird he throws under the bus that back line that has never played together as a four tonight and such a young back four with a left back playing right back who has never played there before! At least pep should change tactics for that as in defend deep stop the press up field! Not usually this annoyed about pep but there is stubborn and there is dam right sabotage!
