Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Fair play to Bodo/Glimt, fully deserved win.
Actually they played how I like football - confident, pacey, strong in 1v1, giddy going forward, strong in defence.

We were the opposite in all those aspects.

I don't mind losing but not fighting and playing with fear and full pants in City shirts is pathetic, arrogant, just poor.

But yeah, this XI was never thought to play a CL match with our best men out
and with a little luck we will still be top 8 when the Gala match is over.

We still need to win a PL match in 2026 and this has to be done come Saturday with full force.

Hope the team sit down and watch how a shite in transition RM go about a CL game

It’s an absolute mystery how every team looks faster/stronger/more committed than our players. Opposition players just brush off our players, run through our challenges, create numerous chances while, when we are in possession it takes about 300 passes to carve out a corner.

Desire. All about desire.

The defending team knows our players onky want to work one direction - that's forwards.

They know of they pounce with speed they're in. One of Bodo goals was a.carbon copy of Mbuemo the other day. Wait for the inevitable shit ball and break in numbers.
It's kamikaze football, I think some of it is arrogance, when we had a decent team and spent 95% of the game on the attack then a few counter attacks were the least of our worries, but now we have a young side that isn't as good and we are playing the same tactic and suffering for it

Guess what? Saturday will come and Pep will still stick with Foden n Haaland AND carry on with this crazy high line. Rinse n repeat every fucking game. I don't want to dig one player out because they were(excet Donna again) fucking abysmal, but if Haaland can't score from a foot from goal when all he needs to do is connect properly then the team is well n truly fucked!

Nagging feeling over the Newcastle game, at the moment looking like our most likely shot for a pot, fingers crossed Nico, Nunes and more importantly Dias are back, otherwise it’s probably the same defence as tonight
Confidence looks shot once we concede, ……gulp!
Different day, different game. I would still fancy us at the Etihad with a 2 goal lead but it's certainly not a given as we never know what team will turn up. Tbf although we were shocking we did have several very simple chances to score and missed them all. Thats not Peps fault.

Personally think the players are bored of the way we play. I sure am bored of watching it.

It's so easy to nullify. And it's on the manager.
Spot on! You can see haaland getting absolutely fuming when he makes a run a ball could be threaded through to him. But instead it’s an obvious sideways pass. If it doesn’t change he’ll be off and I can’t blame him

The Bodo manager did it tonight. Fucking Carrick did it at the weekend. I love Pep, but he isn't gonna change and we need change.
And every other single manager this season and also last season if they had a team with 50%> football quality and ability to sustain 80%> inensity.

what is wrong witht he club is the recruitment....not the manager.

no single manager in world football can make any difference witht he squad we have...

there is a lack of bottle/fight/drive/leadreship and killer instinct in it.
Do you absolve the gaffer of all responsibility then? If not, what do you think he could be doing better?

If we defended like other teams, and played the long ball, Haaland would have scored many goals in the last month or two. Instead we have gone back to trying to win games by winning possession in the opponents’ half, pissing about with sideways passes and being caught on the counter, yet again. I suspect he will be putting in a transfer request before long
I fear him and Rodri will fuck off if this shit continues.

He's being played with the handbrake applied.

If we mixed it up and went long once in a while he would be in on goal a lot more often.
