Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Anyone noticed the complete lack of tackling in every area of the pitch from the entire team no matter who plays? No challenges for 50-50s, balls squirming loose to an opposing player with ease, opposition players charging past ours with ease and no sign of a tackle? Fucking atrocious. No one does a fucking thing about it.

Pep is surely walking the tightrope now regarding his job? This ridiculous high line with the players available is beyond arrogant and stubborn! Not even shocked we got beat anymore but the level of effort from most was truly shocking! Just when you think it can’t get worse…….

It can be both. Some of the players aren't up to standards, but it is up to Pep to figure out how to maxmize what you can get from them, and he doesn't seem to be willing/able to do that. Not providing more cover tactically for today's back four, for example, is a mystery.

And you can't tell me there's not an academy kid that take Lewis' minutes at this point.
from what we have seen of the academy kids no.....

Look at Alleyne struggling....and ll the others that have come on in various games look nowhere near ready....

There isnt the option int he squad at the moment and that is down to bad purchases......

Alleyne had a nightmare, and needs to get his act together.... he might just about get away with it tonight, but Pep won't stand for that on a frequent basis.
No centre backs on the planet can defend against 3 v 2. The number of times we left our 'inexperienced' defenders outnumbered was unacceptable. The rest of the team and the manager need to apologise to them. Their confidence needs building up not destroying.

Yes but the team needs your support now. This is when you matter.
No one said I wasn’t going to support them never miss a game but I as every other city fan I know are lifetime shareholders in this club and reserve the right to say exactly what we think
And that tonight was a load of pathetic shit dished up by a team that completely let down its shareholding support
Remember one fact my friend I as any good city fan was here watching City long before Pep and have every intention of doing so long after he’s finished with us
The one constant is our hardcore match going fan base many like me are veterans of over 60 seasons and attending over 2k games

Well we arent out I suppose. Jeez flat as fuck right now. Thankfully we have bought two good players this window. How we need them. This squad nowhere near what we’ve had in last decade.

Never going to end well when you’ve got 9/10 players in the opposition half, whilst not doing anything quickly and passing backwards at any and all opportunities. One mistake and it’s 4 on 2.
Lad who scored twice had 1 in 16 before today and, of course, they’d never won a CL ‘proper’ game.

Biggest worry of all though is, when we get beat, we really look like we could concede 4/5/6 every time.

Nunes alleged rumour, Pep leaving or is the 115 verdict about to be released. Summat ain't right
What the fuck has 115 got to do with anything regarding this run of results? We've just spent another 85m in the last 2 weeks so I doubt anything is close to coming out. We were simply dreadful all over the park. When Alleyne messed up for the second I highly doubt he was thinking of 115.

Absolutely - we haven't got a shit squad, despite the knee-jerk reactions; but we haven't got the players of five years ago either, therefore, more horses for courses / pragmatism is required in certain games. On Saturday we should have sat back more protecting a weakened defence and hit those cunts on the break. Easy to say in hindsight, but the high line has caused issues for our much better back fours over the years.
The tactics don’t match the players available at the moment. But still we play on the same way Identical to the slump last year. Players not helping either as there’s a distinct lack of the required effort being shown IMHO

Karen Carney called it right after the match, why are we so bad in transition? We play so deep in the opposition half and then trot back when the other teams have sussed it and throw everyone forward leaving us massively out numbered,School playground level tactics
Desire. All about desire.

The defending team knows our players onky want to work one direction - that's forwards.

They know if they pounce with speed they're in. One of Bodo goals was a carbon copy of Mbuemo the other day. Wait for the inevitable shit ball and break in numbers.

If we defended like other teams, and played the long ball, Haaland would have scored many goals in the last month or two. Instead we have gone back to trying to win games by winning possession in the opponents’ half, pissing about with sideways passes and being caught on the counter, yet again. I suspect he will be putting in a transfer request before long
