Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

I don't think he was crying. I was watching him on TV.

We should give more credit to Bodo. They did what they did very well. We started complacently just passing the ball aimlessly. Then the sky caved in, and we asked for it. The team that was available didn't have enough to get through. After 2-0 we did try. We needed wide players but they weren't available.

I hope the young players get a chance alongside a few experienced players to put this right.
one of our wide players is at Everton.

Imagine playing a left back on the right, just so you can somehow play your pet project. And then, when he's clearly fucked, keep your CDM on, who, due to being fucked, gets a fucking red card!!! I love Pep, but just like the CL v Chelsea, I fucking hate him.

Sadly all the work that was put into the team to create that style has been lost

We are a shell of that style
That team were the Centurions. No team will ever reach that level. It was the greatest of all time. Nothing has been lost. That was a moment in time. Moving forward we can hope to win trophies and have some great times. That’s how life works.

Pep is complicit with his team selection and tactics which the players didn’t appear to have confidence in RAN with so few appearances and he plays him RB An inexperienced defence playing high line with no MF protection same as Saturday etc
O'Reilly's job was to provide width on the left, and RAN on the right.

There were no wingers, and Bernardo, Gonalez was out. I didn't expect RAN on the right but I am not that critical of it. I can see what Pep was trying to do.

Just accept the defeat. We started very weakly playing keep ball instead of going for the throat. We all know why we lost but thankfully very few blues are going to blame young players. They need more chances to put this right.

I will blame Pep when I think he is to blame but at the moment I think the team if fragile due to injuries / form. I don't blame Pep.

Send it to Pep.

This is how your old City teams used to play football.

Fast, decisive, one touch, forward, controlled, wing play, attacking, football.

Now City are just passing the ball slowly, sideways, and backwards to death, getting nowhere.
Send him those players back and I’m sure he’d do it again!

Yes! I don’t really get this high line strategy at all. All it does is condenses the midfield, causes it to be cluttered, too tight to play and we get crowded out, lose possession and there’s a massive space that we fail to defend every attack it seems. Then again I’m an old school foc.
Same thing happened last year and actually any time we have ever been beat under Pep

Risk and reward he calls it but my god when it fails due to whatever reason we look shite

Last 2 seasons it has looked really bad and occurred more than once due to injuries and players available

It was similar in his first season also, look at the 4 nil at Everton and the 4-2 at Leicester

Exactly the same as the last 2 games

Now if he can get players back, Guehi in, who knows but if not brace yourself as Pep will not change

I'm afraid that that is RAN for you. Positionally he isn't good.

Can't you see that without wingers, Pep was using his full backs to get width. It didn't work but you should understand the objective.

The problem was the players attitude and the absences. We had an unbalanced team but what do you expect with 10 absences?

Think we need to stay calm...once Guehi is settled and Dias is back we will be solid, and Nunes is also missed. The attack needs to find their spark again. We need to give Marmoush a chance and it's down to him and Semenyo to carry the goal scoring burden.
player after player after player. That the answer to everything.

We all know and love the football Pep's City plays.

This season we are rebuilding and at this moment we are in a very weak position. You've just got to take it on the chin. If you want to throw the baby out with the bath water then prepare for a very long time in the wilderness and you will deserve it too.

Nowhere near the same team now though. Not even looking like the same club... what a rapid fall off the cliff. Terrible back room managent.. how do we fk off such a good group of staff ..all at once zzzzzz

throwing away lead in Monaco not great but ok also recall ref was woeful in that.
losing Leverkusen at home was brutal shit especially this Leverkusen got ripped apart manager, top players etc all left.
we kind of made enough to steady the ship with beating Real away which was a close game and could have been draw too but nice result. all we had to do to get 4 points from Bodo and Galata and still finish in top4 if the table imo but very least top6.

a draw vs Galata now will not get us top8 and the advantages that come with top8.

fucking Arteta tho wins 7 of 7 CL games so far (including PSG at home, Inter away, Atletico home) and looking at being home for 2nd legs all in 1/16, QF and semis too if they get that far which is huge advantage and of course not playing the dreaded extra two playoff game in February.
last thing we need are those extra games with Carabao, FA games and PL games for us there

lets hope Galata doesnt win tomorrow as then they have 12 points and a win at Etihad puts them ahead of us and gives them something more to fight for.

Yeah you cant expect to compete with a world class Norwegian team not many have heard of with virgin Premier league players like

Donna Nouri Lewis rodri rudy foden OReilly Cherki Haaland.

Would love to compare salaries and transfer fees between the two teams. Oh Current record transfer fee 880k.

Accept the truth it was embarrassing.

Foden's corners are shite...too short on Saturday n too long tonight. Does anyone know what one arm or two arms held up actually mean ? Cherkki's are a bit more quality but fuck me as a pro footballer they have to put it on the money. They must practise 50+ a day
We got a set piece ' specialist ' from Liverpool in the summer I think, and tbqh i think they've actually got worse. They're an absolute shambles, the impossibility of putting a corner in the right spot, fuck me 200k a week and you can't manage it
