The player we need back more than anyone is Nico Gonzalez. Bar the odd moment Rodri is nowhere near his level and needs sitting again to regroup; hes way short of being himself as a player and needs protecting from himself. In the derby and last night it looked like we were right back to Nov-Feb last season when teams would just walk straight down the middle at us and be in at our back 4, we were so easy to play against.

If Gonzalez is fit we are far more solid down the middle; weve also played our best football with him in the team.

One would hope/imagine/pray that Nunes, Guehi, Bernardo, Semenyo, Doku and Marmoush will all be inserted into the starting XI on Saturday. Sadly at present Foden and Haaland are giving us the square route of nothing and should be sat down. The kid centre half - whos filled in admirably at short notice - also needs taking out of the firing line.

What Id pick (hoping those mentioned are available)

Gigi

Nunes
Guehi
Khusa
Ait-Nouri (a left back, actually playing left back!)

Gonzalez

Cherki
Bernardo
Semenyo
Doku

Marmoush

No more excuses, tired injuries etc.
Team
GK-Donna Kabab
RB-Nunes
RCB-Kush
LCB-Guie
LB-At-Nouri
MD-Rodri/Gonzo
MD-O`Reilly
MD-Silva
LW-Semenyo
RW-Doku
CF-Marmoush

Plenty of pace up front, Midfield 3 stick together and back four with At-Nouri as the wing back, we should have more than enough to win. Pride and Passion and we need to be the 12th MAN.

Foden and the Viking on the Bench and made to watch no resting at home, I have to attend.

Although those last 2 performances have been shitter than shit, they've not really fucked up our season anymore than it already was.

Ok we may have a couple more CL games but, like the CC final that we're 'almost' in we'll have players back by then.

The league has a long way to go yet and although I doubt we can put a run together to pressure Arse we are undoubtedly still in the mix.

We're whisper it near enough in the last 16 of the FAC too.

So, we're really still 'live' on all four fronts but, and a big but, things need to change or all those four fronts will slowly disappear.

Wolverhampton, a workman like side in recent games are coming to town, not one of their players would get into even a semi-functioning City side or bench.

Just drop a few yards back, play with some tempo and we'll be fine on Saturday and can start to build a bit of confidence.

Pep needs to take a fucking long look at himself too and I'm not sure his ego will allow that. It's a sign of madness to keep doing the same thing when it's not working.

Three points with at least one from Haaland, a clean sheet and off we go again.

Spot on.
"drop a few yards back" is my key line,
oh how Marmoush, Haaland and Semenyo would love some space to run into - which made all them great scorers.

I would surprisingly invite Wolves to go on own counters, but as you say our beloved Pep sadly is too stubborn to adjust things when we're not at our normal best - and we obviously aren't.

Max can rest - he was been thrown under the bus actually, the kid - and Guehi can offer more stability.

I pray on my knees Nunes will be fit.

4 days til Wolves and 4 days til Gala are very helpful.

Main aspect will be the nerves, especially Pep's!
He will be a wreck in both matches and hopefully his team prevents stupid emotional decisions.

Our shaken team needs strong leadership right now and Pep has to be calm and confident.

Donnarumma
Nunes Khus Guehi O'Reilly
Rodri Nico G
Semenyo Cherki Doku
Marmoush

Haaland & Foden need a break. If Nico G isn't fit, put Ait Nouri in at LB and O'Reilly next to Rodri. If Nunes isn't fit, Khus at RB, Alleyne at RCB, Guehi LCB.

Kind of dreading another match at the moment.

I'm the opposite, I want another game now - it can't come quick enough.

The starting eleven will be one thing, how we set up will be what truly matters.

High line, back two exposed, players out of position, and we'll be in a for a long 90 odd minutes again.

We are more likely to see a half injured unfit Stones at left back over an actual left back.

Think Wolves are unbeaten in last 5…let’s end that.
'Tis indeed 5 unbeaten - includes a draw in Stretford (hhmmm)
I know we're in a rough patch, and I've expressed elsewhere that we need to tighten up hugely in MF, but fuck me I wouldn't want to be in the trenches with some on here.
Get right behind them Saturday and try to give them a lift.
Am concerned Wolves have a virtually fully fit squad, and a week off, mind
(Not seen a result poll, for a game against a team bottom of the PL, like that for a years)

Wolves fans will think that we have lost the plot with the tales of Doom. We are 2nd, in the semi-finals of the League Cup, in the 4th Round of the FA Cup and we need a win to most like qualify automatically for the Champions League and yet it feels grim.
