The reactionism here is beyond even normal Bluemoon standards. A week ago, we beat Newcastle and we were the greatest thing since sliced bread, chasing Arsenal down, terrifying front 3, set fair with a young defence, Rodri back to his best and showing what we missed with Nico in CDM, etc etc. Now 2 games on, we are worse than a non-league team and going to get pummelled by a team that could end up as the worst PL outfit ever.

Reality is we lost our 2 best defenders (1 of whom is one of our best attackers also!); our Ballon d'Or winner has just come back after virtually 15 months out including an injury relapse, had to draft in a kid who has never seen the PL before longside a rookie CB; and were missing our best RB in both games and our captain yesterday. 2 very sub-standard performances, but nobody will be hurting more than the players. And we have not become garbage overnight (nor is this team world-beaters yet). So let's have some perspective and get behind the boys. There is a huge amount to play for this season.
Great Post.

Reactionism? Chasing Arsenal down? We’re behind but we’re not chasing anything, we haven’t won a league game in the last 4 and the performances are getting worse, the last two arguably worse than anything witnessed last year. I would also love to know who the terrifying front 3 were! I also don’t think anybody thought Rodri was back to his best.

I’m definitely not Pep out, the reality is we have spent a large amount of money, we have just been played off the park by some Norwegian outfit that haven’t played a competitive game in 2 months. Create nothing, controlling nothing and defending nothing and all that after getting mullered by that lot, both teams should have scored atleast 5. I have never felt embarrassed for a player but last night I felt embarrassed for them all.
We’d struggle to chase the dragon atm.

A lot of that is true - but you haven't referred - bearing in mind the 'bare bones' situation at the back to which you alluded - to the tactics employed at all. What's your take on that front? And were you disappointed to see the early warnings (in the derby) completely ignored? That's what is really concerning many posters and unless I've missed it, nobody has given any justification for the lack of adaptability displayed in the past two games.
I dont think anything was ignored - but we were unable to put it right I put it down to 2 things:

1. Complete disruption of our build from the back: a LOT of our offence (when successful) is tied to our ball playing back line or our CDM being able to find midfielders and attackers in space. That to me was a much bigger drop off from Gvardiol/Dias to Khusanov/Alleyne than their defensive quality (Alleyne's 2 mistakes nothwithstanding). And Rodri having a poor game exacerbated things. It is often said we are a system rather than a collection of players.Well I think these issues disrupted our system more than we probably expected (especially after Newcastle).

2. Inexplicable Lack of Energy: I can't explain this one and neither can Pep. We had 3 clear days between the Newcastle game and the derby and it's not as if SJP is the other side of the universe.

When is :
Rodri
Haaland
Foden

Back from pretending NOT to be elite level football players?

Think I read somewhere that pep gave them a month off, cuz I havnt seen the fuckers since Nottingham Forrest away!

-----------------------Donnarumma---------------------
-------Nunes-----Khusanov----- Guehi---- NOR------

------------Nico----------------- Rodri---------

------Foden------- Cherki--------- Semenyo--------

---------------------Haaland-----------------------

On the ball I'd go with

-------------------Donnarumma--------------

------------------Khusanov-------- Guehi-----------

--------Nunes/Foden-------- Nico--------- Rodri------

--Foden/Nunes-- Cherki--- Haaland--- NOR/Semenyo---- NOR/Semenyo----

The fullbacks will obviously interchange with Foden/Semenyo. Foden more so dropping deeper whereas NOR is like another 10 or outwide.

Yes, correct. A week ago Bluemoon was awash with optimism, Semenyo was on fire, Guehl on his way, Anderson said to be lined up from Forest, Pep was on his third rebuild. Now it's gloom & doom. But beat Wolves and Galatasaray and it'll all be alright again.
"A week is a long time in football", as Harold Wilson might have said.

(For younger folk he was left wing for Huddersfield back in the '60s.)

I really think we will win this game and go back to winning ways.
I really think we will win it as well, but beating bottom-place Wolves is no guarantee of being back to winning ways.
Some can hide behind the ref and VAR for the derby, and say we had loads of chances against Chelsea and Brighton, but Bodo had 3 points from 18 and we were second best all over the pitch for much of the game.
