Wolves (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Often wonder if any other club gets as much negative match opinions from both the media and their own supporters when the team is doing relatively well compared to most others.
We won, we're not as good as we have been in recent years but we're still 2nd.
Don't want to think what this forum would be like if we were in a position like wolves are in at present.
Most on here don't realise how lucky we are.

Not much point though in 'papering over obvious cracks' in forum posts, we need to be telling it 'as it is' ..... what we are witnessing now is a city team, and performances, that are a pale shadow of what we were once watching ..... I'd rather City buy a couple of players of the quality and consistency required to take us 'somewhere near' back to that level, rather than signing four or five players who aren't of the standard needed, or who are constantly injured.

A 2nd placed finish will only ever allow you a 'hopeful punt' at the following seasons Champions League ... it will never bring you the Premier League title.

We need to buy a couple of super stars that will get us on the edge of our seats no matter how much it costs. No matter the result win lose or draw the football is awful

Just got back, thought NOR was excellent, and becoming some player. Semenyo’s goal was excellent, and the power and control of the shot that hit bar was going at some speed. Really unlucky. Thought Guehi had a good debut. Loved how when he played the ball forwards, he dropped back to receive the ball back if required. Very calm. Different characteristics but somehow Kompany like (intelligent player). Thought Nunes coming back from illness played well and a great assist. Cherki makes us tick. Rodri still getting up to speed and ball control. Marmoush good goal and performance. Bernie was everywhere. The way Pep celebrated those goals I think was more in relief. Back to showing his passion in the bench today. I don’t think any of the substitutions made any difference, and perhaps not needed, except for giving some players a rest. We are still very much a work in progress, not the most scintillating display. Add Anderson into the mix and we are building a good young side.
On Semenyo's shot, it hit the bar and then am I right in saying it went out for a throw?

Waiting to watch it again but if so, that is something that doesn't happen often.

Happy enough with that. 10 points ahead of the Dippers in a season where any team can get results, look at Burnley at Anfield last week and Wolves against United. 3p all that counts at the moment.

I personally can’t stand him.

He seems to be the fall guy for dragging off the pitch early by Pep, which is hardly gonna help his confidence .... he appears to have impressed a lot of people with his serie A performances, but we're not really seeing it here, so whether this league is just too much for him I don't know, or whether its something deeper, like his family can't settle in this country ... he seems to be a likeable enough guy, but I doubt that will ever really be enough for Pep, or get him regular games, on its own.

You can always watch it on a youtube match highlights video a few hours after the game finishes ....

I still haven't seen today’s game but we are so stale and not dynamic enough. I agree with a work in progress but whilst Foden did not start today, he needs to start upping his game. The days of him being a youngster are gone.

Yeah, pull your socks up Phil. You may have won everything under the sun before age 25 and given us some of the most memorable home grown moments ever, but you need to get your finger out young man.

Had tomato soup today for the first time ever at the Etihad.
Surprisingly good.
How long has this been on the menu.

Have to say, the fucking Wolves fans were unbearable today. Every 10 minutes they'd be running through the anti-City songbook. "Is this a library" "You're cheats and you know you are" "Your support is fucking shit". Etc. Finally in the 89th sodding minute they finally sang a song with the word Wolves in it. Weird weird pricks.

They haven't had all that much to shout about all season, or yesterday, so having a go the opposition is always a distraction to them .... yet there was probably twice the crowd in the ground that Wolves attract.

Just found it and it did, some power in that shot
There was some power in it ...... Semenyo has been a good buy and will practically shoot on sight from anywhere, with either foot ..... but you only had to watch his goals for Bournemouth, from all angles, and their regularity, to see that he was worth buying.

Who's telling it like it is? Certainly not the clowns who have liked your post.
