For Champions League matches, we need the tourists to fill the ground. It puts some of us off, but I think we need to accept it.

It’s a novelty for Newcastle and Villa when they play in it, but I’m pretty sure that it’s the same for the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, United, Liverpool. Yes, United and Liverpool have huge fanbases, but their stadiums are tourist destinations and will make up a serious chunk of their crowds. Remember Spurs playing at Wembley - no way that was filled with their own fans.

I disagree. The club need to treat these group stage games vs unattractive opposition the same way they treat early round domestic cup games. £10 - £15 tickets and they'll sell out like Exeter did.

This is gonna be brutal on Wednesday, I'm expecting a lot of empty seats, I think the club has taken tickets off sale to try and mask how patchy it might look

Embarrassing really one of our biggest games of the season and with the injures we have and players who can’t play the players will definitely need us on the night as Pep has said in is interview

I don’t think there will be a good atmosphere. They will make a fucking racket and our fans will lapse into silence after a few minutes of trying. Every European game is like that.

I’m similar. Partly because I can’t afford it and I’ve decided to go to the Newcastle game instead, but also because I don’t want to be sat surrounded by away fans. I had that against Celtic a few years ago and it was crap.

I believe the Gala fans will be fine. Many of them live locally and hopefully will not take the piss and behave like animals (as Celtic did). To be fair we often get foreign fans in our block(308 East Upper), many of them just taking in a CL match. I have met a lot of them and they have always been fine. That said I understand why you don't want to risk it. I hope my optimism for Wednesday is well-founded. It is a huge game for us and we need all the support we can get.

I think everyone is over estimating how many Galatasary fans will be in the home end. City have restricted ticket sales, so you had to be a member before the draw for the group phase, so unless there’s a mystic Galatasary fan with a crystal ball, I can’t see there being much trouble with fans in home sections.

Last time I looked there aren’t restrictions on the various ticketing websites you can buy tickets from. The hospitality sections are often full of away fans as well- when we play against a team with a larger fanbase.

There’s has been plenty of times when there has been ticket restrictions in place and there’s away fans not in their section

I know that would make it easier to fill, but not sure other clubs do that. They’ve driven regulars away and now we have this problem.

Wednesday night will see empties all over the ground because of the selling restrictions which have prevented tourists from attending. If we didn’t have tourists, then this is what we’d probably see until the QF / SF stage.

I just think it’s an uncomfortable truth which I’ve never wanted to believe up to now.

Agreed. Think it's best to see it coming and drop the prices low. Get the young ones in.

We have a problem of over supply and not enough demand at current prices. There has also been an over supply of games.

I 100% agree and I would 100% prefer it, but to me £30/£35 is fair for a ticket and at that rate we’re a long way off selling out

I guess my point is that plenty of blues will have considered going to the Galatasaray game, but when they logged on and saw it was 35 quid they decided to leave it.

I refuse to believe that in a City with a population of 2 million, there aren't thousands and thousands of blues who'd love a cheap evening at the match.

I shudder to think of what European Nights might look like if we find ourselves in the europa league.

To be fair I’m not sure on the prices, but is that £35 in the cheapest seats behind the goal and also you need a £35 membership as well. Usually the rest of the ground is more expensive

I personally think it should be a bit cheaper, as a lot of these champions league games seem meaningless. I know we probably need to win this one, but even then is anyone really that bothered about this one?
