Remember we promised to bring Otamendi back to Man City if he delivers against Madrid. What are we going to do now?
 
Ok qualified. Now we can start post match chat. Pep must be furious if he had known that we were still a goal short for confirmed qualification when we finished the match.
 
Good 1st half but as usual, start to the 2nd was meh.
Final ball in and around the box 2nd half not good enough, Foden absolute gash again, what the feck is going on?
Delighted to avoid 2 extra games in January by being top 8 but it was a close call, surely with 10 mins to go and Sporting needing to score 2 late goals to finish above us if we scored a 3rd, we should have gone for it? Made zip all effort to get a 3rd later on.
GK again was very good, back 4 did well all night.
Too many had a good 1st half and disappointing 2nd.
Doku outstanding until he had to go off.
Overall, solid performance and top 8...excellent...wait until we get some big players back and Guehi/Semenyo can play
 
I thought I was almost certain that there would be more goals, that Gala would score. Osimhen was dangerous, but as a team they didnt create that much. Thats probably connected to the fact that our defence played very well overall,

I dont agree that we were poor in the second half. We played smart, because there simply wasnt the energy for an all-out high tempo, and at the same time we had several, if not a dozen, chances to kill the game off. It was often down to small mistakes and a lack of precision. Phil alone, if hed been in form, could have been involved in or scored a few goals himself. The same goes for Marmoush or Reijnders.

Ait Nouri is my man of the match. Cherki, Khusanov and O’Reilly come next. The only strange thing is that Ait Nouri played the full 90 minutes, he deserved to start against Spurs, and I hope he does.
 
Bloody hell that was pretty exciting. Cruising at halftime and 4th, then slipping a place as it seemed each new result was flashed up.

A brilliant outcome playing with half a team. And also playing half a game. A really good first half and then so many players seem to drop off. I thought that they might sneak a goal and make it even more nervous.

Get the new boys in and as many of the injured players back and we could have a very good run in this tournament.If not all of the things we are still in. Oh that’s everything! This should give the place a real lift. Well done you blue boys.
 
The hype around this competition is phenomenal and very, very, very well managed. So, Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea are in the top 6 teams in Europe!!!
