Yes and they shouldn’t have happened and the culprit should be arrested, but compare that with two Leeds fans being killed by Gala fans. Also compare the cuts and bruises with the young girl being maimed by bin dippers.

Btw I went to the game with the intention of sticking up for fellow Blues if it kicked off. What about you? It was relatively peaceful and the majority of Gala fans were respectful.

I sat in my usual seat block 111 and was surrounded by Turkish guys.
They were respectful throughout the game. One can only speculate the reaction if they scored.

We did, and then we had a 15,000 drop off in attendance for Gala. Many reasons can be cited, but a 15,000 drop off for a win that wasn’t guaranteed, and a possible top 8 finish either achieved or missed, shouldn’t see a drop off of that magnitude. Let’s be honest, that drop off is staggering, even with 100’s of Gala fans in the home ends.

I think we know what the prices will be if it’s either Real Madrid or Inter Milan, which seem likely to be City’s next opponents. There is no way Soriano isn’t going to miss either of those glamour ties and opportunities to hike the ticket prices up again as he knows the tourists and football fans will pay what they have to pay to get a ticket for one of those matches, especially if it’s Real Madrid. We’ve been here before on numerous occasions for that repeat Real Madrid home game.

As for Newcastle, it’s all down to the ticket prices. If tickets for that match would have been cheaper, it would have sold out in my opinion. As I stated, with a cup final at stake, it was more important to fill the Etihad rather than trying to screw more money out of already financially hard pressed fans. If City get to the final, we’ll make that cheaper ticket money beck anyway. Just for once, well, not for once, you’d have thought the directors would have thought, fuck it, let‘s fill the Etihad instead of worrying about making a few quid more.

As for next season, regardless of the amount of home cup games, we might get some, we might not get any, we’ve got an extra 8000 seats to fill. That’s going to be an almost impossible to do looking at the attendances for this seasons home cup games. And no, the Emptyhad jibes don’t bother me. Hopefully there will be sensible and cheaper ticket prices for next seasons cup matches? Hopefully!

Bang on post. We also dont have hordes of plastics to take up the slack. Our ticketing strategy has been a disgrace for several years and plenty saw this coming a mile off.

Like you, a load of my pals just dont bother even trying to go anymore. For multiple reasons already discussed here. Heads need to roll in our ticketing department...

What happens if a family of 4 want to buy but find there arent 4 together in the available seats. The fact there 5,000 available in CB3 or wherever is not being offered and so little Johnny doesn't get his night out.

The ticketing strategy is a mystery to me. I tried to buy additional tickets in close proximity to my seat in level 3. None available virtually from going on sale for several cup games.

Then I get to my seat and no one is in the nearby seats.

However the reservations for 3rd party sellers is operated, it clearly isn’t working.

Going is a habit. There was a time I used to try and go to every away game. Met some top fellas off this forum along the way too. Haven’t been away since Covid now and having kids.

Once you fall out the habit you don’t tend to go back. I can’t remember a time before I didn’t go to Maine Road, some of my earliest memories of my life are there, and I’ve been a season ticket holder ever since but once I stop, that will be it I think.

The club have driven away regulars. For many they’ve seen all they want to see (City win the biggest prizes) and the insane match-day prices, the additional fee to be a “matchday member” and the increasing difficulty with transferring tickets, has driven loads away.

Tons of lads I came of age with who took advantage of the £95 season tickets in the 2000s, gave it up 2-3 years ago and no longer go.

It’s tragic.

And the reason Newcastle charged that amount is they knew, even with Newcastles relative lack of success it would be a hard sell and they wanted a full house to help the team.

It’s not 2010, no City fan considers a carabao cup semi as a huge game anymore. The club know this so they had a choice get 35/40k or lose a few grand, drop prices to get upwards of 48/49 plus and improve the atmosphere for the team.They banked the few extra quid.

I for one think getting to Wembley in a cup final is a huge game still and always will do.
I spent too many years of dreaming of going to Wembley with my Man City in a cup final especially after winning on my first visit in 1976.

I went versus Galatasaray, but it was touch and go, I had a ticket but couldn’t be arsed.
Newcastle next week and Salford will be a similar turnout,
I’m fast falling out with football at the top table, prices, KO times and days, VAR, amateur dramatics from players on the pitch, the inconsistency with officiating and VAR, daft rules, it’s a fuckin circus.
We have enough fans to fill that stadium 10 times over, but they don’t turn up.
The club has got to start opening their eyes and ask themselves why.
If match-day ticket revenue formulates such a small percentage of annual revenue, then make cheaper, like German football.
And, we need to help young fans in getting tickets together, my son would love to go with his mates, instead of sitting with his grumpy Dad and his mates, who’ve been watching them for over 50 years.
The club is actively alienating fans, particularly season ticket holders, who can’t give their seat to another season ticket holder for example,
If you look at sales for Newcastle right now, you can only buy in L0 and L1, because they want it to look full, leaving fewer fans in L2.
Just leave it all open for sale FFS.

Can't understand the lack of enthusiasm that's on here regarding the 2nd leg against Newcastle on Wednesday.
Prices could obviously be cheaper. We're on the cup scheme and paying £25, which for a cup semi final and another chance of a Wembley trip is decent, wouldn't complain if they charged a tenner more and we're not flushed with spare cash.
We should be making the most.of these days of challenging for trophy's as they won't last for ever.
We should all try and get our arses down to the Etihad on Wednesday.
Let's leave the negativity at home.

It's a completely different ball game with them two, and not even comparable.

Whether people like it or not, they are two of the biggest clubs in the world, I'd argue only Madrid are bigger.

Liverpool will continue to sell out week in week out, no matter what price, and even if no scouser ever sets foot in anfield again. They're that big.

We are simply not big like that. If I put my ticket on the exchange there aren't queues and queues of tourists waiting to buy it off me, like there are at anfield.

if we gave the tickets away and put on free travel, we still wouldn't fill the ground. its a semifinal, with reasonablely priced tiks and huge numbers of our fan base cant be arsed.

Rags have had plenty of games in the past with swathes of empty seats, mainly cup competitions. That's when they were in them of course.

Liverpool had two home games in short succession. I knew they had a big overseas following but I was amazed at how many were in this one hotel. Probably could repeat that across others in the city.

I visit Norway a lot for work and the first question is always about football and which half of Manchester do I support. They always say Liverpool and mention they get to 5-7 home games a season. It’s remarkable. Haaland is well liked though.
