Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Just to point out, amongst all the shit that will be posted on here tonight and tomorrow, we drew the match. We didn't lose. You want him gone because of a draw.

We're one year in to a complete rebuild of the squad. It was always going to take more than one year. Some of you have no patience though.
The way everything is now. Instant gratification. You'll have people on here praising Nunes and Doku now when they wanted them out last season.

We could win against Liverpool and everyone will be talking him up again.

4-2-2-2 doesn't work. Stop changing style and back to basics. Stretch the play with wingers.

Now people who wanted change of style is enjoying... oh wait, now they say "Pep out". Enough.
4222 is fine for certain game states like the 1st half.

But 2nd half you have to adapt if the opposition just go all over us and take control.

Should have taken off Semenyo or Haaland for Foden to get control.

If you sign average players and give a 10 year contract to player who can only perform if everyone plays to his strengths.
Say we have to sell Haaland, but get Nuno Mendes, Hakim, and Neves, do we win more games and score more goals, or not?
Im pretty sure the manager says ok to these so called average players. So he has a responsibility there too.

In your scenario, we have no out and out striker. Who will put the ball in the back of the net?

If after 400mil + we can't seen an improvement, what will more players chucked in do?

I don't know if Pep has a say on transfers, but he's being asked to replicate previous successes with sub standard players, the fall off in quality is jaw dropping.

If you take away the really bad run last year - then I would say we are no better. We're the results with the old team during the 2nd half of the season better than now?

I don't think so.

I honestly think he's run his race. I don't forsee any magical changes.
I mean Haaland playing poorly and we need a goal but Marmoush doesn't get on until the 92+ minute.

Im not a football manager but even I can see that's not right.

Just for context 1 win in 6.

Agree. I can't understand the lack of reaction in the second halves. Worrying.

Wenger went 14 years without winning.

Pep has gone 1 year.

Do tell us how he is an archaic laughing stock??

That was on Arsenal that though.

Had they got rid of Wenger when they should they would never have had the decade they had from 2010 to 2020.

Keeping Wenger cost them 10 years of just existing and being a laughing stock.

He got kept in the job because nobody senior at the club at the balls to sack him and too many old guard fans were hoping he would turn it around.

This could be us with Pep.

In a rebuild you see patterns of play, even if the results are inconsistent. The first half was exceptionally poor from both teams. Spurs stepped it up a little and we couldn’t handle it. Like Brighton, like Chelsea, Like Sunderland, Like Fulham, like Leeds, like so many other games. We are a little bit better than poor in the first half and then capitulate after HT. Every game.

Needs to go in the summer, we will always love him, but we are not going to challenge again under him and his dated tactics

I think apart from Liverpool, after January we got the most points in the league last season. So yeah it did work
