Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

Does Anderson get in ahead of a fit Rodri? Does he get in ahead of a fit Gonzalez? The last two signings suggest any new signings have to be strengthening the first team and not just filling out the squad. Not against Anderson joining, but unless we need to meet a homegrown quota, the bar for any new midfielder has been set high.

Arm he will walk into this team

Well, walking does appear to be de rigueur…

We might need him but we’re crying out for more creativity in the middle.
Tbh we need to tighten midfield first and sone bite into as we do easy to go through it’s like having shaz and trace in midfield. Stop the attacks before they happen and then we can concentrate on creating .

He looks like a good player, but is signing someone from a poor side, with no experience at the top level really going to change things that much?

It kind of reminds me of a lot of our recent signings. Good players, but really lacking any top class experience. We’ve lost so many proven winners as well

Maybe. I still think the most telling problem lies in knitting the attack together. Lots of good individuals but still no cohesive unit, irrespective of the permutations.
We arguably need someone with a little more experience and calmness who can tie it all together.

That’s never been our transfer strategy to sign players from top sides. The only ones I can think of are Gundo, Silva and Mahrez off the top my head.

Are the players we’ve signed recently as good as players like Mahrez, Silva and Gundo though? They played at a pretty high level as well

I think there’s been a real drop in quality over the last couple of years.

Another technically limited runner. How about singing some skillful passers of the like of those with whom Guardiola dominated football?

Who is affordable though mate at that level now? Prices now are ridiculous on players and we also have homegrown rules, PSR, FFP to sort in the midst as well? We sign the likes of Echeverri and should be all over Smit but would Pep play them?

If they arent elite level tiki taka then its pointless. Always gonna get over run

On this seasons form he gets in ahead of both with his legs in plaster casts.

When / if he signs there are going to be a few fans who's heads fall off at how good he is.

He has the absolute lot.
