Media discussion - 2025/26

This is what giving an interview like he did does. It gives the media a free pass to use the quotes exactly as they want their readers to interpret it. Naive from both Rodri and Pep IMO. Yes us fans can fume and mouth of, but as a paid employee and representative of the club, words should be chosen carefully, or just not said if emotions are running high
It doesn’t matter what Pep and Rodri say. Their quotes are always twisted and distorted. They may as well vent their spleen.

The media and pundits are absolutely revelling in our current slump by our standards. We have absolutely dented their egos over the years, first they claimed peps tactics won't work, then they said he isn't a true great until we win the champs league. Pundits have not got to grips with his tactics, that's why they are loving today's back to basics style football, because they can understand it and make their knowledge relevant again. I remember one pundit going nuts because pep said he didn't teach slide tackles!
This is now the media and pundits time to get their egos back and make themselves feel like they finally have got the better of Pep.
Pep is nearer leaving city, he will go, this season or next, his time here will be analysed and reported on. He will be compared to pisscans time and most media will state he was second best to that twat.
But none will acknowledge the pisscan never had financial restrictions to build his teams, opposition teams were no where near as strong as they are today. Refs absolutely got a load of shit if decisions went against them, media got banned for asking the wrong question.
That's why Pep always says, we achieved what we achieved with no ones help.

Also gpc didn't change the way football is played, across every level of the game.

Webb will now be getting his order from Gill and co. He was brought back to deal with the City “problem”, he’s done sterling work on behalf of the cartel scum. I expect Rodri will be called to explain his comments and then given a ban even though what he said was remarkably reserved, since when has requesting fairness been a fucking crime.

Fast tracked to miss Liverpool...?

(My hat started twitching)

Last week it was Ian 'Grubby club " Herbert by name and nature having the weekly hit City vitriolic piece. Not read it but this week step forward ' unwashed of Stockport ' aka Oliver Holt stating Rodri is 'deluded' if he thinks refs are against City. Whose brown enveloping Holt then? He's deluded if he believes he's writing the truth and we are not targeted. Absolute shysters both of them.

Edit. I've just briefly seen a synopsis where the unwashed minger is calling for a long ban from the FA for Rodri. I can see this turning into a pile on and gaining traction like the Berni ban following the conguitos joke with Mendy. Cnuts. Every stinking festering one of them; may they rot in hell forever when each of their alloted 3 score and 10 years comes a calling.......

It isn’t naive in the slightest. It was done with full knowledge of what the reaction would be of the English media.

It was done (a) with the full knowledge and approval of the club, just as Bernardo and Pep’s earlier comments were, (b) having been thought about carefully before those comments were made, (c) in full knowledge of how it would be reported and (d) despite knowing how it would play out.

The management of City might be many things, but naive is not one of them

This is the only next step if VAR is to continue. All dialogue should be broadcast live to the stadium and tv audience as they do in both rugby disciplines, cricket, etc.
But it begs the question, why must it always be done in incremental steps? What are they all so fearful of revealing? What is behind the curtain that they clearly don't want us to see (yet)?

I realise that the authority to broadcast the clandestine conversations live comes from above (FIFA), and as such PGMoL's hands are effectively tied, but there's been resistance on so many occasions from them to present their discussions after yet another perceived cock-up occurs. Why? What are they actually saying that we wouldn't be able to handle hearing? Can we conclude that what they are saying and how are they saying it is the issue?

I can only imagine that the language used either isn't of a professional standard (how long have they been at it now, and they still haven't got a language protocol in place) or is full of biased derogatory sniping (like David Coote's dippergate chat or similar to that **** who sent Bellamy off at the first opportunity he had due to a personal dislike of him)

I'm still in disbelief that when they first introduced it they didn't really know how they were going to use it without it being a fucking shambles, and after SEVEN YEARS of tweaking it's remits and changing decade old laws to assist its usage, it's still a fucking shambles.

In 2018 I had such high hopes for it, but since day one it's been clear that they were never going to slaughter their golden goose. I feel like I've been so fucking naive :(

Cheating, corrupt, unprofessional PGMoL bastards!

Anyone else noticed whenever our players have a picture in the media, it’s usually one which makes them look like idiots or even with learning difficulties? Two from the bbc today.

Always said he was great for the odd lot but he was absolutely terrible for football
Todays bullying and belittling of referees, the blatant tapping up of rival players and the contempt for international football all have his whisky stained fingerprints all over them. He didn’t invent them, but he sent them into overdrive
