Notice how VAR didn't show once that Solanke wasn't offside. I swear to god his entire arm (including the shoulder) was offside.
According to Fulham's manager, VAR went to great lengths to find something for the rags today. The ref had awarded the rags a penalty for a foul - VAR overturned it because the defender got the ball first. But VAR then went back in play and found a shirt pull outside the area and instructed the ref to award a freekick - from which they scored. VAR was only supposed to check the error in awarding the penalty - nothing else.
Just make a new rule as they go along.Watched the game and thought the exact same thing. I didn’t think VAR could award anything outside the box that previously had’nt been given on review?!? I might be wrong, but if not that stinks. It’s effectively rereffing the game when suits…
The var/ref is unfair and unacceptable. I don’t care how crazy it makes me sound. We are royally getting shafted week after week. We've spent I don't know how many seasons having to be better than the team against us and the ref and Var.
Yes we played poorly in both halves but that is for the match day thread.
This thread is titled Var Discussion Thread not We Played Shit in The Second Half Thread.
We are discussing the fact that 2 men hauled Haaland down. The ref and his wanker with the flag didn't see it, Var decided the mauling was before the ball had been kicked and instead of 2 bookings and a retaken corner they get a goal kick.
We are definitely refereed and Vard differently and it's so fucking annoying it's driving Blues insane.

Very good post. Sums up my feelings too. I too have been watching for over 50 years and losing/poor results/displays were part of the game. You watch, take your disappointment, discuss snc move on. Sometimes, discussion would be about the ref/linesman being poor but then you move on and next game we might get a lucky decision.I'll be honest I was all for var after the way dippers were help to win the *covid pl.
How wrong was i ?
So much so that I'm falling out of love with football. It's not just this season, I'm still pissed by the Rashford not interfering with play off side rags goal.
Since around Christmas time the decisions going against City have been farcical.
8 mins to try and find a clear and obvious reason to disallowed our second at Newcastle. Same team in the pl clear penalty on Foden, Newcastle off side goal. Wolves clear hand ball penalty.
Yesterday was a new low with VAR and the pl lying to try and cover it up. PL awarded the goal to the spuds player to protect their mates VAR.
Spuds player kick through the back never touch the ball, yet somehow its not a foul and its his goal lol. In 60 plus years of watching football i was under the impression you could only be awarded a goal if you touched the fucking ball
Im at the stage now were I dont understand football, dont understand what is or isnt off side, what is or isn't a foul.
The one big thing that has got me questioning myself about football is corners. How have corners been allowed to turn into a wrestling match ? It's farcical i thought hold was a foul.
Arsenal are allowed to block the keeper from every corner or dead ball.
Why are rules such as holding and obstruction being ignored ?
Just to make things clear i think its across most teams. Different is when the dippers or rags moan they then get every decision go their way. Whe Pep calls it out the cartel press jump on Pep
Never forget an ex chairman of the pl said they have a plan to have different winners ever few years. Seems VAR has been brought as part of that plan

Handball laws regarding a player sliding or falling to the floor have been interpreted to death, but what about a player who is actually sat on the floor and has both of his arms outstretched behind his back, supporting him whilst sitting on the floor?
Is that natural or unnecessary?
Can he not sit without his arms behind him supporting him?
Do they need to be there or is he making his seated profile un-naturally bigger by doing this?
This section of the laws disregards intent as a factor, so when he moves his arms around, regardless of any intent, is he not at risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised?
That melee near the end where this happened (I think it was the one immediately prior to "the corner"), one of our penalty appeals was thrown out and we were told that it was due to the defender apparently not intending to make contact with the ball.
Harsh? Probably; but I bet we'll see an example where it's given and it's all PGMoL's fault for writing the laws in such an ambiguous, woolly manner. But it's done by design
19 seconds. The longest pre-goal incident to be considered before a goal being disallowed in the Premier League.Just read an article that Villa had a goal disallowed when VAR trawled back 13 seconds of play to find a reason to disallow their goal - the ball supposedly went out of play. Smacks of a concerted ploy by the PL / VAR to make sure that Arsenal win the title.
Then why did the referee blow the whistle after the tackle (5 yards inside the area), well after the shirt pulling had stopped (outside the area)? But that is not what VAR said.
The ref supposedly awarded a penalty for the pull, not the tackle.
VAR reviewed and said the shirt pull was outside the box and so was a free kick and not a penalty.
That's what they claim anyway but like everything else its so difficult to know what is happening we are having to second guess.
