VAR Discussion Thread

Then why did the referee blow the whistle after the tackle (5 yards inside the area), well after the shirt pulling had stopped (outside the area)?

Because they’re making shit up as they go, that’s why.
Could quite well be.
The biggest gripe I have with VAR, and I have a good few, is that no one knows what is happening at the time of a VAR review.. This includes the players on the pitch, managers, commentary teams, supporters at the ground and those watching at home on their tv's.
In the one I mentioned, the pulling inside the box (or was it for a mistimed tackle ) should be quite simple.
Tell everyone what the reason the check is for exactly and let us know the reasoning for their decision.
In the case of the Fulham one, what exactly are we checking for. I assumed it was for the sliding tackle but the ref and VAR said it was for the pulling back. I didn't hear this from these but mentioned in Sky and MOTD that this was what they were checking for.
I didn't know this until late last night and Marco Silva didn't appear to know this either. Why not?

In the Marc Guehi one , I don't know did they even check for " Was he kicked by Solanke"

They didn't, given the speed with which they reviewed it - there's no way they checked both the offside and foul. It's blatantly obvious that when somebody pointed out the clear foul, the PL/PiGMOL changed it from a Guehi OG to Solanke goal to cover up their error. Cunts.

Just get fucking rid of it. We get shafted with it and without it. makes no difference. I dont need a 5 minute stoppage for a supposed professional referee to tell me what I'm seeing in numerous replays and slow motions is not what I'm seeing.

And that villa one was a fucking joke too.

At least post VAR it was a quick decision rightly or wrongly by the ref or lino , now we cant celebrate a goal without having to wait in some cases over 5 minutes and they still get it wrong , killed the game for me , so very close to fucking it off , but my love for city wont let me do that

Thats where I'm at. There is no point to it when they still get it wrong after 5 minutes delay. We clearly need to spend the money on getting the best refs from around Europe and employing them over the absolutely wank stains we have reffing the game.

Subtle manipulation. It’s always bent.

How well has pep and the club done to win anyway? Fucking amazing.

Thanks baldy but we need to keep the pressure on about the ref/var treatment. It won’t change until they are forced to change.

Who decided this ploy?

When?

Why?

How did they communicate the plan?

Why did all the refs comply?

etc etc
All goes back to Scudamore's 'strategic plan to ensure a new name on the trophy every few years' comment as far as I'm concerned. He inadvertently let the cat out of the bag that day, and I think it's been going on throughout the PL era.

19 seconds. The longest pre-goal incident to be considered before a goal being disallowed in the Premier League.

They play advantage then givecthe free kick..

There has to be something in this. Never a Solanke goal (as we all know).

To me the fact that the pl changed it from an own goal to spuds goal was clearly to try and clear the mates on VAR.

Sadly the press/media are involved in this cover up with pigmol pl cartel clubs var.

Can I refer you to the media thread
@wolviedinho made a very good point about phone hacking.
Every editor and journalist knew what was going on for 20 years but nobody said nowt.
Even now during high High Court trials, they are denying it.

In football, how did Italy get away with corruption (Calciopoli)
Spain, especially Barcelona, referee corruption.

They were corrupt and no one said a word.
Do you nit think they sit down on there many get together and discuss things?
