Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

I know there are legitimate reasons for many fans and I know that the club are making a right balls up of the ticketing.. but I know at least 1 lad who simply “couldn’t be arsed” and he had a ticket!!
I remember queuing hours for Gillingham 1999 and rags semi 2011 with anticipation of the new Wembley cos id never been. Was there tonight but do,nt feel the same 15 years on,however, be careful what you wish for should we fall back into mediocrity there will be some Bluemoaners on here.

Pitiful turnout

How can people not be arsed to turn up for semi finals !!??
Because I had two major outgoings this month and I refuse to pay nearly double what Newcastle charged their fans.

I was going to go to Salford too, I’ve got both kids but was organising a baby sitter… seen they’ve doubled the price and thought fuck that, not paying double and paying for a babysitter because Soriano is a greedy ****, voting with my feet.

Probably because the club have treated its local supporters appallingly over the past few years and plenty have had enough.

Ridiculous pricing, ludicrous ticketing policies and relocating existing season ticket holders all whilst failing to communicate with any supporter groups. I've been unable to make two games this season and have had to phone the ticketing office on both occasions for over an hour each time to transfer my ticket.

Football without fans is nothing and our club have actively turned away the next generation of City supporters chasing marginal gains instead of embracing the City the club resides in.

We've got a new seven thousand seater stand opening soon and yet there's no confidence from any supporter that it will be filled or produce a better atmosphere. The club have prioritised a hotel and corporate area over communication with its supporters.

Email that to Soriano.

Spot on mate.

tbf would take less in the grund if it meant every bellend opening up their phone light wasn't allowed in ;-)
Less bothered about the phones but the 1000s of school kids queuing up to get up the spirals while shouting city are shit and utd when clearly on a freebe as I walk past with 2 kids who i have had to pay for can fuck right off.

All these rude awakenings are being missed or ignored by the club. Maybe the biggest of all will be the opening of the white elephant stand.
The lack of real engagement with fans (not those ridiculous questionaires that don't actually allow views and feedback - just tick box nonsense), except to warn them about conduct or threatening them with bans, for something they've actually purchased and paid good money for, is appalling arrogance.
That said, I went to B&Q yesterday, racially abused the staff, was inappropriate at the check out, ran onto the carpark uninvited, threw a tub of polyfila, was homophobic in the wallpaper department and misgendered the assistant in soft furnishings .....
How was I to know not to? There were no insulting, condescending warnings of how to behave over the tannoy. Had a similar incident in Tesco. Football, treating customers with patronising disdain.

They were shit. Not a peep.
I was on the 1894 drop down banner from the front of tier 2 in the South Stand so I got a good perspective on the noise from their fans directly above me. To be fair, they were loud as fuck prior to the game starting, chanting about Eddie Howe and empty seats. Once I got back down below to Level 1 after the game started and we scored the opener I think that largely knocked the stuffing out of them. Being under the SS1 overhang admittedly made it harder for me to hear them but others have said they weren't all that once they went behind, and of course once we made it 3-0 some of them were already streaming for the exits with just over 30 minutes played.

Brilliant post.

We've definitely got problems, but I'm not convinced that last night was the best example of whether we're losing supporters, as it was a midweek semi final so should only be compared with previous midweek semi finals

Next season we might be knocked out first game away from home in both domestic cups

Financially that might be an issue for the club, but as some blues can't cope with a few jokes at our expense, it might be preferable to all these midweek fixtures
