Reijnders is more likely to start than Foden. On current form, Foden is behind any of the midfielders (other than Lewis), especially away from home (even when he was in form, he struggled at Arsenal and Madrid).

Back in 2021 Foden was exceptional at Anfield (in both games: February and October). He tormented their defence. Sadly, he seems nowhere near that level now. Here's hoping he scores the winner at Anfield. Might help him big time.
Reijnders would be fine if he can play like he did in the first half yesterday. It’s hard to pick for that position if Bernardo isn’t fit because we don’t know what we’re getting out of our alternatives.

We don't get him very often, only 5 games vs the other big 6 teams in the past 10 years.

If anyone wants to pour over the record -

It's sort of rendered meaningless by the lack of BIG games, but in 30 games he's never given us a red card, and has given us 9 pens vs the opposition 3.
There will be no such reasonable objectivity on here!

Reijnders can run with the ball, which may be useful against Liverpool, as they are likely to attack us more than other teams and will leave free spaces.

I think Liverpool will try to be smart and very selective in their pressing, they will try to stay compact in defence and counter us.

Nobody knows their players better than Pep 2, so let's hope that helps.

He can run with it if he actually drops to receive it. Too often he’s lingering around the opposition’s box instead of being an option for our defenders to then turn and run. Don’t think Liverpool will leave themselves as open as Newcastle did yesterday, so that space for Reijnders to carry it may not even be there.

Rodri, Bernie for sure unless Bernie is injured. Nico G ( Maybe) depends . Haaland, Semenyo and Cherki almost definitely the attacking 3.

Definitely
Donna
Nunes
O'Reilly ( either DM or LB)
Guehi
Rodri
Bernie
Cherki
Semenyo
Haaland

Potentially:
Khusanov ( Id say he starts ahead of Dias but that's a tossup).
RAN ( if O'Reilly plays CM)
Gonzo ( if O'Reilly plays LB or Beenie cant go)

Possibly
Phil (Pep might prefer him to Cherki to start a big game. But i doubt it)

Less likely
Marmoush ( coz he got 90 minutes)
Invisible man ( Cos he got 90 minutes)
Doku ( coming back from injury)

Unlikely
Rico, Ake, Max,

Love us to park the bus but I think that what Liverpool will do and then score 5 on the break!

Law of averages says we've gotta beat these cunts at their place( covid aside) and they've been shite at the back all season, despite the big girls blouses on here saying we've been bobbins at the back aswell we still have the 2nd best defence in the league, the scouse vermin have conceded 33 to our 23.
1-3

Serious question - do you think that last night's defensive display was very assured?
How did it compare to our typical defensive displays this season, would you say?
Bearing in mind that in less than 36 minutes' possession we allowed them 10/5 shots/on target?
This doesn't include the beyond-our-control near-misses as a result of the offside decisions.
