I think Pep plays Dias and Guehi which terrifies me as a high line against Ekitike. We'll be better organized and with the ball though but I'd still prefer Khusanovs raw pace as a failsafe.

I think Pep will start Dias as he values his leadership skills, but like yourself I would go with Khushanov who has pace which is vital against Ekitike.

The fact that he had to win that many duels is more a statement about our set up and performance rather than Rodri

Not sure about the point you are making. The other City players including the defenders won a lot fewer duels than Rodri. O'Reilly played next to him and won 5 duels (about 1/3 of Rodri's).

Also, worse teams than City have to defend a lot more than City, yet their players win fewer duels than Rodri.

He isn't at his physical best (obviously) and is expected to improve, but his performances haven't been half as bad as many on here have described them.

This could get ugly , they are showing a little bit of form and our defence has been shaky , Guehi returning will be a boost but not sure Pep will risk Dias , but we will definitely need him when we have our backs against the wall , the most we can hope for is a draw because we never win at Klanfield

Pep can use this as our big away game mentally, he keeps saying we need to win silverware and the Champions league

I think Khusa is likely to start but he's still quite raw. He wins fewer duels than any of our main CBs and FBs, including Ake. He's never won more than 5 duels in a PL game (StatMuse), whereas Gvardiol and Dias win 7-8 per game, and Guehi won 10 at Spurs (Khusa just 3).

What's the explanation? Guess his positioning isn't that great. He doesn't read the game as well as the more experienced CBs, which is normal. Let's hope he'll have a great game at Anfield.
