Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I'll be honest, I still don’t fully understand the technicalities of that decision.

A team can't commit a foul while scoring. So the goal has to be disallowed.

But Pawson was playing advantage for the Szobozlai foul, and if we don't score we don't get any advantage.

So the game just rewinds to Szobozlai's foul, which was DOGSO, so red card and free kick.

It's actually pretty straight forward it's just the timing in the game, the emotions, the delay etc made it seem crazy.

Spot on

Trouble is football is to be enjoyed and decisions like that suck all the enjoyment out of the game

Not just that. Sunderland are going for Europe, Brighton want to progress in the FA Cup and Forest are in a relegation fight, and now Liverpool's best player is suspended for those 3 games.

Plus Brentford, Chelsea, United all fighting with Liverpool for the CL spots.
They will be helped unto the Euro places, I've seen it so many tines.

The season doesn't feel right ( for the media at least) unless we have 'those famous European nights under the lights at Anfield'...

Put them in the Thursday cup, if they have no Europe more time to train and improve- step forward Rags under Carrick as exhibit A.

Got to be honest boys and girls, didnt see that one coming with 10 mins to go but fair play to the lads for the character they showed in getting off the mat and responding in a time of dire need.

Guehi was a colossus all day for us - what a player we have there; Bernardo magnificent all day and ran his socks off showing intelligence and a sheer will to win dragging us with him; Khusa was superb till having to leave the pitch, Gigi made a huge save at the death to preserve the result, Nunes continues to grow into the right back role and Erling took and scored a big balls penalty. Great stuff that and a huge +3 - as for that VAR nonsense at the end, pffffft. Typically nobody was happy with the outcome with us losing a goal and Liverpool a player when simply allowing the goal wouldve been better for all concerned.

On to Wednesday and hugely important to win and for once put a little pressure on Arsenal.

Wasn't a fan of Bernardo advancing beyond our front line for a press but aside from that the midfield was quality in the first half. Tired second half as expected with a less than 100% rodri and Bernardo.

If I was in a mischievous mood I might be tempted to quote a few posts from that pre-match thread, some unbelievable blindness to what the tactics would be. Okay we rode our luck pretry much all of the second half but overall, one of the best performances at anfield under Pep.
I hold my hand up as I wasn't sure of the team choice.
