Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Think the ref probably told them time was virtually up so he deliberately leathered it high into the stand, knowing the game was effectively over.
That’s exactly how I took it.

Just before the free-kick, gargoyle one said that there were 15 seconds left, so that tallies.

To be fair, the decision at the end (which was completely right) was worse for Liverpool than it was for us. I don’t know why people want a goal more than seeing Szoboszlai rightly sent off, the rules got applied completely correctly.
Because Gary Neville was actually right , it simply took away a great moment when in the round everything was even.

I’m petitioning Costa to offer a new coffee, a Bernardo. Subtle and delicate milk on top, strong coffee with a slight bitterness/bite underneath. Best enjoyed when within the vicinity of Liverpool.

No, he was completely wrong. You don’t get to choose when you apply the laws of the game and when you don’t. In a world of pre var then he might be right but then everyone would complain about an interpretation that goes against their own team. You can’t have it both ways and he should have known better.

Denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity… when we actually scored.. is warped logic off the scale

Just give the goal and don’t send him off

So him and his club shouldn’t be penalised at all for a red card offence? People are completely converting the rules.

I’d prefer the extra GD personally.

Two players both pulling each other back 50/50, neither touch the ball and it ends where it was always going, in the back of the net.

Even Pep thinks it was a goal :)

The Salad/Guehi red card is gaining momentum as the turning point of the game , what about Konate with two hands on Mamrmoush in the penalty area and pushing him to the ground in the first half , because Chuckle Brother didnt think it was a penalty VAR didnt get involved. Your not telling me VAR are not influenced by the Sky commentary , because that was anailed on penalty , but not a mention on any programme or website , it never happened.

We all joke about who’s statue-worthy, but for me, Bernie is right up there. The man bleeds blue. He might have the odd average game, but he never gives less than 100%. Today, he was on his feet in that final minute, pressing their defence. He was nothing short of magnificent.

To complain about a goal that’s clearly against the rules is absurd though.
Totally agree, the worst kind of cheating from Szoboslai, but the correct decision. There have been so many incorrect, game changing rulings against us this season that if we lose the league on goal difference by one goal, this certainly wouldn’t be the reason!

We got given an advantage when Haaland is fouled. Once Haaland fouls him back then the advantage stops. Same way that Haaland wouldn’t have been able to pick the ball up and run it into the goal.

The VAR literally HAS to tell the ref to check again as per the laws. It pisses me off and I was livid at the time but it’s still correct.
