Media discussion - 2025/26

Just watched the match highlights on the BBC site, about 10 mins long. Considering we had 11 shots on goal in the first half, which is the most any team has had there for decades, somehow the good old beeb have managed to show about 2 shots in total, before switching to what looks like a scouse onslaught in the second half. When you consider that will be the only way many people will see any of the game, makes you realise how the media can shape people's opinions without even knowing it

Woke later today after the Superbowl, 08.00 local news, no mention of yesterday's game but, that slot is usually a small one which is a nice excuse.

08.15 main sports news again zero football, just a very quick bit on the Olympics.

When I think of the coverage El Plastico gets and all the talking points from yesterday it's nothing but clear and obvious.
Ha, I read "but, that slot is usually a small one which is a nice excuse." with a capital S on slot which puzzled me for a minute :)

Oh what a lovely day it is.

08.30 local news just about got a mention, didn't manage to show any goals and started with although true a negative 6 points behind Arsenal.

Yes, just watched it myself and had to think back to how I remembered the game. They really can't help themselves.

Yeah good old Jimmy Wagg, when they got rid of him the quality of the coverage just plummeted
Seen this a couple of times now on Fridays NW tonight sports slot were that ginger prick intrduces the local radio stations main sports reporters to tell the public which games they are covering over the weekend. Its pretty cringe but what is mad is that I haven't a clue who the guy is when it's BBC Mancs turn, can only wonder what our Jimmy would make of it all.

Isn’t the the BBC Radio coverage for Greater Manchester just two rags debating how suddenly winning 4 games puts them in the frame for winning the league. Embarrassing stuff.

Tuned into Sky Sports news to see what the reaction is to yesterday’s result. All I’ve seen is Robin Van Persie’s goal the greatest goal in pl history then show three rag goals. Does Bruno Fernandes get in the rags greatest 11. Are United the most entertaining team in the PL. Yesterday’s result at Anfield has killed them.

Really good free kick goal but has any goal in the history of televised football been replayed during aythe game as many times as that one was.

Sky cunts, they’ll be absolutely gutted at that comeback
I cant work out why they have analysis after games tv viewers see replay after replay crowd reaction managers pulling faces while game clearly going on in background

Just seen union games have 1 ad break each half at scrummaging with in game pictures in small box the way arsenal piss about at corners same will happen in football

They got rid of Ian Cheeseman too. . A top radio journalist and City through and through .

Jonathan Northcroft will be crying himself to sleep tonight

The unashamedly dipper loving wanker writes an article in the times today randomly eulogising Klopp (one league title in nine seasons) and comparing him to Slot (one league title in one season)

Among the delusional gems he comes out with is, when remembering Klopp’s “most loved teams”, he refers to their 21-22 team as “almost quadruple winners”

In much the same way, I almost married Beyonce and almost became super middleweight champion of the world.
