The GPC is a shitstain that will never go away, thankfully.
The game has moved on, yet he is still referenced for anything positive - it's 13 seasons since they won the League.
Also the media conveniently forgets, how badly he left them in the mire...

They HAVE to mention him whenever they can.

Its their comfort blanket of happier times, and thus reminds them why they followed the rags in the first place.

The hope that a return to that is just around the corner is suggested in it.

I think the BBC/MOTD must of took offence to the hammering Wirtz took on social media for his disappearing act against City.
So tonight they gave him a 5 minute tribute for his role in the dippers 0-1 win at Sunderland.
At one point i thought they were talking about a reincarnated Diego Maradona.

After the final whistle it went from “Liverpool win on the road blah blah blah liverbirds blah blah ken Dodd ar cilla and oh yeah man city won” to just “Liverpool get it done” or some bullshit and complete omission of any mention of City, like you said, after temporarily going to just 3 points behind Arse.
