Fulham (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I only commented on Pep’s season management. Which is incredible. Not his game management, which isn’t flawless.

But I’d rather he be better at the former. And I’d say he unquestionably was.

He most definitely has been, and it looks very much like he's at it again!

If we win the PL with this squad this season, I think it will be his greatest achievement.

I'm more than happy to eat humble pie if we do win it, but either way, he's doing a great job!

Goal
Difference will be mega important and the second half display was awful !
How do Marmoush and Reinders expect a start when they don’t even break sweat .

Second half wasn't as bad as many are making out.

We didn't lose control of the game like we often have done. Foden was close to making it 4.

I’ve never called Pep a ****.

Why would any City fan do that? Or even suggest another Blue had done that?

Weird thing to post.
Come on, don't pretend that you don't know what I mean - he wasn't happy after a 3-0 win, just like the posters tonight who you're calling c*nts ...

Not knocking the result. But the City of past would not have stopped at half time. We should have pushed to improve GD it may be crucial at the end.
A very fair comment.
I've regularly criticised Pep, for not using all 5 subs.
He did tonight, also making them with minutes to stake their claim.
Unfortunately, don't think any of the 5 did much ?
Marmoush, in particular, had a huge chance to impress with 48 minutes on the pitch.
Hopefully, the squad players and Academy lads show more eagerness with their opportunities against Salford...

Our first half was as good as we've played in last 12 months - our press was high intensity & flawless and we attacked with intent. The 2nd half was like the Newcastle game and we just cruised through it. Still, a massive win, a clean sheet and with players returning, the bench has depth again. The vibes are good and I’m absolutely buzzing for the next four months .... onwards and upwards ...

Big three points but, until we sort this weird 2nd half trance out, we'll struggle to bring home the PL.
It is turgid! No wonder people leave at 75 mins. We are still definitely in the title race but for the life of me I can understand this passing side to side to side, we then get pressed Donnarumma lumps it forward and we lose possession. It is horrible to watch. It has to be a deliberate tactic by Pep.

Solid, if slightly uninspiring in the 2nd half. After half time the whole thing was a bit of a non-event. Had the impression that those being subbed off were only too happy to get out of the foul weather.

Guehi looks immense, what a signing he’s been.

Rodri still doesn’t look up to full fitness, there was one Fulham counter attack in the second half where he’d been up around their box and just didn’t have the energy to chase back - he looked done for. But to be fair he did cover most of the pitch - at some points it was hard to work out if he was playing midfield, left back or as a third centre half. O’Reilly similar by the end, he looked like he was saying as much to one of the other players at full time. Shout out to Ait-Nouri who put in a real shift, looked much sharper and finally seems to be settling in.

If we want to be hanging on to Arsenal then really Fulham at home on a piss wet through Wednesday night are the sort of bread and butter games that we HAVE to be winning. But a good performance overall, never looked in doubt and should keep the confidence levels up. More please. Onwards.
