I'll be going with my 9 year old its pretty much always been a Sunday ideally yeah 3pm be better but 4.30 not too bad plenty of trains and overnight cheaper than it could of been if opposition wasn't London based etc. They'll be no Arsenal fans in the city end if they is they'll get slapped all over and im confident it sells out if you can afford it get down there with as many friends and family as you can and support the boys as this won't be the same forever. This is a huge match winning this could completely derail Arsenals season and kick start us Cmon city and a blue army of 32K blues at Wembley CTWD

Exactly this the negativity spreads when one hears someone not going a few others knock it on the head.

We’ve got a few more than previous years going down with us. Think the majority want to see arsenal be schooled on how to play properly.

Yeah we're going on the train Piccadilly is shut but Stockport is open so all good they about 8 or 9 of us but my local supporters club coach is full 57 seater was booked upped quick and got a waiting list for any drop outs we're in 4 competitions and have a chance to win some silverware fuck Arsenal and there gobshite fans go down in numbers as we will and smash them like we did in the last CC final.

Is this a clarkie?
It's always been a Sunday. Are you new?
And who says we won't sell out. It's a final, not a semi or the shield.
And my 9 year old is going, if he sleeps in lessons I don't mind, it's "eid party day" in his school that monday, so no lessons anyway! Paaaaaarty!

But yes, always a Sunday. That's like saying why is the fa cup final a saturday. Always is, that's why.

/rant over ;)
In the interests of historical accuracy, it hasn’t always been on a Sunday. It was a Saturday 3pm kickoff until 1983 and consequently those finals weren’t live on TV.
But the spirit of the post you were replying to demanded your response. Anyone suggesting it should be on Saturday after over 40 years of Sunday finals needs telling!

Just to be clear my Like was for the historical accuracy, rather than the last sentence! It is what it is on a Sunday, but living up here, I’d still much prefer it on a Saturday if it could be.

I'm taking my two primary school aged boys. We won't get home till about 1am, so I'm taking a half day at work and keeping them off school in the morning (I appreciate this isn't an option for many.) They've never been to Wembley and seeing the look on their faces when I told them we're going was priceless.

Come on City.

I’m sure they’ll sleep on the way home anyway - unless we win ;-)

Great to see some enthusiasm on this thread!

The last ones city played were 1530 in the 1970s and they were Wednesday's originally 2 legs.

Best Carabao cup final was beating Arsenal 3-0 and the three icons Aguero, Silva Komps grabbing the goals.

I can be a bit negative about tickets etc but matches like this are the stuff of dreams and it won’t last forever. Cannot wait to get there.

Thanks. Completely forgot about those early two legged finals. Should have qualified the info by saying Wembley finals were on Saturdays up to and including 1983.

Great point.

And also why do I have to go all the way to London, why can’t they play it at villa park

And also why should I have to risk being attacked by Arsenal fans in our seats cos we can’t sell all our tickets

And also Piccadilly station is shut so I can’t catch the train there

It’s all totally pathetic
And it can still be a bit chilly in March. Why don't they play it July?

Villa Park is nowhere bloody near big enough for a final. It holds just 42k. For the biggest stadium in the Midlands, that’s pitiful.

Arsenal fans are a bunch of soft Southern fairies.

Get a coach, organise a minibus with your crew.

For all we know this could be our last trip to Wembley for thirty years. Why would anyone want to miss that?

I'm one of those Blues who remembers travelling down to Wembley in heavy snow for the LC Final March 1970. Now that was a cold one ! At least it was on a Saturday though. Personally I don't have a problem with it being held on a Sunday nowadays but I don't see why it can't be a 3pm KO. TV ruling the game again without even a passing thought for travelling fans.

Don't have the criteria to get tickets through the club, cheapest ive seen on other sites is around £224...anyone suggest where i can find cheaper or is that about the going price ? Be 2 of us possibly 4 if can tickets cheaper.
