Seat Counters 25/26

Was on bang on 10 after going in the queue at 9.30, pretty much every row 1-10 behind the nets were already gone. Only the odd single available from then.

City should have sorted this out when Arsenal had theirs on sale, the criteria should never have been 15k plus to start should have at least had 20k as well at a minimum to split it up.

Hard work with them lowering the cheap tickets downstairs from row 16 to 10. I’d have binned off going if only the dearer lower tier or the gods were available.
I got the impression rows 1-10 behind the goal weren’t on sale yet considering there were no seats available there at all.

I waited until just now to buy my tickets so I didn’t have the faff of waiting in a queue.

Surprised to see the usual block and row I like to stand for Wembley finals was not available but I got one on the same row in the next block.

For last season’s FA Cup final, I waited a few days so I could buy tickets with my mate who want in the Cup Scheme and we both got tickets in the block+row we usually do and there were a number left around that area.

These seem to be shifting better than the FA Cup final.
Not quite as quick as the FA Cup final, but they've certainly been going quicker than I predicted.

I rekon the Level 2 seats might not be as much of a slog to sell at the end, with them being significantly cheaper

The £75 seats in Block 134 are reserved for the 1894 group, the rest of the £75 seats sold out really quickly, naturally it was the first area to sell out.

None of them went to OSC's

Be grateful for the loyalty of the blues between 1977 and 2010 who kept City alive.

Manchester Thanks Sheikh Mansour but we also owe a lot to sheer bloody mindedness and loyalty of a unique fanbase in English football.
I want my lotalty pts for this period! Had my first season ticket in 1977 with my mum in the Main Stand (Block H - Right/outer). Had a season ticket ever since. Going to Platt Lane, Kippax, North Stand Block R, Kippax GG Lower, and then blocks 109 and 239 at the Etihad.

However my wife and I were raising a family and I was taking my kids when loyalty pts then became a thing, and out of principle and that I couldn't afford it either, I never went platinum so I've slipped well down the priority pole. The result of this has been having to use a favour to secure a CL final ticket in 2021 and only rarely now qualifying for away tickets.

This is the elite experience and sheer know how of our seat counters in play here. You can't beat experts who've been over course and distance many times
@Didsbury Dave has always been our resident expert when it comes to FA allocations, and will no doubt have to explain this many more times before the count is done.

Very roughly, this is how they do it. They hold back a number of tickets, maybe 10,000 for an FA Cup final and 3 or 4000 for a Carabou cup final, half in each end. This covers all of the member clubs, right down to grass roots levels, who are contacted and offered a number of tickets. A premier league club might be offered 10, a non league club 4, I don’t know the breakdown.

These clubs elect to take these tickets or not but when they do they can select how many and which end they are in. So the FA don’t know what the take up will be until the application deadline.

I’ll use the example of the Stoke final. The member clubs ended up requesting , say 5000 City end tickets, and 2500 Stoke end tickets. This meant that 2500 stoke end tickets, in their normal allocation sections , were given to Stoke as an “extra allocation” but none given to City. Yet On the day both clubs had the same amount of tickets.

I did once work out the exact numbers but I’ve forgotten. It’s not hard. It’s why we get a much bigger initial allocation of tickets for charity shields and semifinals and a smaller one for the FA Cup finals, yet on the day we always have the same number of fans.

I think that over the last 10 years or so the number offered to clubs has been reduced hence increased “allocations” for FA cup finals in particular.

I hope that’s clear to everyone. Basically, if you take out the cooperate sections which are mixed, each team always has around 36,000 seats. The numbers I’ve used here are approximate but close.

The fixtures come thick and fast during the spring for the seat counters. Newcastle will be around 7000 I think so should be an interesting one. Like Wembley, they need to get through the criteria quickly and get them available to members and they’ll sell. Short turnaround on this one so people need to know whether they’ll qualify. The club should have learned a lesson the the recent cup tie up there where they way overestimated demand.

I rekon they'll be hoping to have wembley done and dusted before Newcastle goes on sale, next week probably.

What's the deal with Newcastle on Saturday by the way - they've taken a smaller allocation?

Remaining tickets in each block look like ticket exchange, so looks like it will sell out

I would have thought it would make more sense for them to generate the atmosphere from the back of the stand. Instead, it appears they’ve used club privilege to secure the cheaper seats in the front 10 rows. Hmmm

Those three blocks greyed out are the usual away ones. They’ll bring a full allocation. Meanwhile, City are trying to charge a minimum of £60+ for this whilst there’s zero trains. Geniuses.

I don't disagree about your comments on it being easier to generate noise from the back of the stand, however it's completely unfair to accuse the one group who regularly stands up to the club on behalf of the fans, of using "club privilege" to secure cheap seats.

Adult tickets start at £45.
