I hope he doesn’t as CB 5/6. needs another loan and he will definitely be looking for that looking at his comments during the Guehi transfer.

He’s too good to risk losing. We need to show serious commitment to him and his development - otherwise he could get snapped up by one of the big Spanish teams.

This is the first time that the young Girona defender has received this award.

He beat out some very talented players to win La Liga under 23 player in January and we need to treat his development carefully.

I think the reason Alleyne was called back instead of Reis this season was because we planned to sign Guehi and still have stones and ake on the books. We didn’t want to risk Reis’ development. Next season, it’s likely we’ll have a couple less CBs and there are a lot of games and potential injuries.

IMO, he could do a good job in our squad and get enough game time to develop. Could do him the world of good to train around the squad next season

Gvardiol
Khusanov

I think he may need another year at a CL club, where he could start week in, week out, playing midweek games. He just turned 20 and doesn't even have 50 senior appearances combined. I think we need to get him as much experience as possible.
 
Reis was really good tonight but he picked up a yellow that has him suspended for next game

Gvardiol is not as good a CB as he is a LB.

Our injuries basically forced us to play him at CB but likely that won't happen with our depth now so back to LB with RAN.
 
I saw this game fully and caught some glimpses of other Girona games, and read some fans talk about him of La Liga.

He is a star.

Gvardiol
Guehi
Dias
Reis
Khusanov
Nunes

These 6 give extremely strong options for a back 4 while giving options to play the treble system, Reis, Gvardiol or Guehi could do that role, or just invert Nunes.

We are clearly a 4222 or 4321 team with wide fullbacks this season.

But what about next season?

Maybe we can mix the treble system with the current system and find a perfect blend.
