Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

The other thing that absolutely baffles me is how do they never seem to have any in house issues? Yeah he had a few problems with the likes of Aubameyang early in his tenure and since then nothing.

The easy answer is to say everyone is on the same page and it’s a united camp but something to me just seems off. Zero trophies in 5 years playing a horrific brand of football and no signs of complaints from the players?
Good point .
Id not looked at it like that.

5 years but 2 years to build a competitive squad and then go up against the best team the PL has ever seen and get pipped at the last. Sure, Arsenal were off it last season and this season haven't been super exciting but in the 2 years we finished 2nd to City, had City been the 'old' City and we'd been up against most of the Rags sides that won the league we'd have been champions.

Some context needed.

You have spent 1 billion on your squad and not won a single trophy in that time. Arteta should be under far more pressure than what he is.

And no you weren’t up against the best City team the league has ever seen. That version was a few seasons prior to your rise up the table. You have been been finishing second to our regressed version and hopefully will do again this season.

Here is context for you.PISH.

So sky haven’t mentioned his new wages, they would have if it was a city player. How much do we reckon Saka is on?

Being widely mentioned on 'x' that he'll be on "in excess" of 300k per week.
I think this is a huge mistake by Arsenal. I get they probably have to reward his loyalty but it wouldn't surprise me at all if even at whatever age he is now his best football is now behind him.

This is the consequence of being overplayed at such a young age and why you need to gradually introduce young players into senior football. Saka was carrying a club at far too young an age and that is inevitably going to physically catch up with a player.

I reckon you'll beat us at the Etihad but can see you dropping points at Chelsea.

I reckon getting that 8th spot in the CL table will end up being massive for you, avoiding 2 play off matches
its all you need is to be in the top 8...not much of an advantage being 1st... look at Liverpool last season.. mind you we were top 8 last year then lost in knock out. re the league.. i don't think we're good enough tbf.. but at least it may be closer than many thought at Christmas...Ages to go yet

See Foden..i reckon young players get a bit bored after 7 or 8 years as well

agreed, but context also needed, we can't compare previous rags sides...football was predominantly UK based..only a few dozen quality players ...which 'those that can't be named' were able to buy up as their resources were huge compared to everyone else...Sherringham, Cole, Ferdinand etc... Arsenal didn't have the comparative buying power to get the few top players available then... Most sides today would hammer 'those that can't be named' team of 92'

Cheating Arsenal have announced that their season ticket prices will increase for the fifth consecutive season, despite the FSA asking for a price freeze by all Premier League clubs.

They have also said that they will be introducing safe standing areas:

The money ST holders get back from selling a single top game to an american tourist is unreal..my brother in law has sold three txts this year and will be only £100.00 short of his annual ST price...incredible... he's getting £500.00 for Chelsea!!! It is a massive advantage being in Central London re this sort of thing - the City is awash with rich American's since 'Diaper Donny' has gone full fascist

I’m a bit behind the curve here, but Saka has been largely anonymous this season and suddenly becomes Arsenal’s highest paid player. Arsenal has better players than Saka and have been playing well this season, so I wonder if that will affect their morale? It’s possible Saka hasn’t been playing well because he’s been focused on a pay rise, but that doesn’t sound professional.

Wise bringing this game forward for Arsenal! They want there meeting with us to be irrelevant as much as they can! Still we could go on a bad run also Arsenal can! Expect them to get a comfortable win just because they can handle these games by shutting up shop scoring from a set piece or two! Now if they drop any points tonight then I’ll be thinking then they could be on a big mentality wobble..

We lost to FC Franco in the play-off round, which we were lucky to qualify for.

We were nowhere near the top eight.
