Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Make a rule stating that any player who leaves because of the concussion protocol will automatically miss the next game, that'll sort out the cheaters.
This is already the rule, the issue is there'a a post match test for concussion that happens so if they pass that then they are free to play the next match.

Reverse psychology? Or are you just the kind of guy you would hate to have alongside you in the trenches?

It's not quite reverse psychology........but, I always vote 'lose' in pre match thread, and I don't ever gloat to mates about us winning, others losing....my version of 'wearing lucky pants' ;)
.....50% worked so far this w/end......but Arsenal WILL beat Spuds, as they are shockingly shite (except against us!) ;)

Nope spurs WILL get something from that game

Fook it up tommorow and i feel there in for one huge collapse.
Chelsea at home after that snd would you really wsnt that crowd on your backs which is gonna happen

Oh they will;

1) It's Spurs
2) They always up their game against the Spuds for some reason
3) It's Spurs
4) Spurs are down at the bottom for a reason, it wasn't all Thomas Frank
5) It's Spurs
6) Spurs won't exactly care about doing us a favour. Their fans will be up for it, the players don't care.
7) Most importantly of all....it's Spurs.
:))))

It is, because Khusanov went off at Liverpool and was on the bench against Brighton 3 days later.
But neither club used the concussion rule ( or blamed they didnt)
I'm sure that if you hand that new" green card" its a completely different situation.
Having said that , no one seems to be clear if the green cards were handed to the ref.

I’m pretty confident that we used it at Anfield as he’d been out cold and the medics basically demanded he be taken off. Khusanov wanted to carry on.

We didn’t see the same at Wolves. There’s no chance it could have been concussion. The upper arm of the Wolves defender impacts Trossard‘s chest first which means the shoulder to the chin blow had far less intensity.

How it made him reach for his right ear is perplexing, given he was hit from his left hand side.

Can we have a discussion to compare and contrast the way Arsenal play vs the way City plays. As in the aesthetics, style, strategy, organisation, etc. In my view Arsenal does not conduct themself with grace and elegance like City, the talent is there but they do not play in a way that is consistent with the beautiful game in my view.

The Gunners just try to run over you and bully you and this is not the way I was taught to play. I was taught to play not to push people over or to bully but to inspire to out strategise and to out maneuver with skill and preparation.

It is just a different philosophy and it goes far beyond even the current manager. The energy coming out of that club is not compatible to me because they do not play in an inspiring way like City. And it has more to do with just star power or overall talent. It has to do with how one plays and to have respect for the game.

This feels like last chance saloon for Arteta so no surprise he's willing to do anything to win. None of the fans will care either if it finally gets them another PL (and they're still in all comps, with a very good set up for the CL).

Remember that in the post-invincible Wenger era, for a period Arsenal were the poster childs for pretty but ineffective football. They were always mocked for trying to play football 'the right way' whilst Chelsea and the rags (and later us) hoovered up the trophies. Plenty of their fans then were crying out for a bit of pragmatism.

The problem of course is if you don't win you really have nothing. A turgid and cynical team that's boring as fuck for 90 minutes twice a week in the hope of finally bringing glory at the very end, when the most dominant team of the modern era, and the other one that wasn't as good but still won a few cups, both played football that was worth watching.

Ultimately Arteta is just a bit limited as a coach, and even though I'm still leaning towards them finally getting it over the line this year in the PL, it will say a lot more about the quality of their direct competition than it will of them.
