Newcastle United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

But should we not be better fitness-wise in the 2nd half ? Newcastle had an away trip in Europe and City had a week off. Yes I understand this team is a new build and the new players will need to find what it takes to be in a title race
But the 2nd half drop off is a problem.

VERY big win and Arsenal vs Spurs tomorrow could be the key to the title race
For me, we need to address the fitness issue as young players like NoR shouldnt be exhausted after a weeks rest and we continue to be so poor every second half.
We also need to get in a competent set pieces as coach though, awful taking them, awful defending them and cant even take a throw in properly

I dunno if its possible to fix the 2nd half problems with Don in net tbh

He can't kick it long and find our players.

I think his short passing is actually pretty decent, but he seems scared to do it to our players receiving under pressure.
What an absolutely bizarre take. I don’t think Donna is in any way even slightly responsible for 2nd half performances.

Honestly, I didn't see a huge second half drop off from us as in other matches. What I saw was Newcastle upping their game massively.
Memo to the ref: what exactly does Dan Burn have to do to be sent off? Pull out a gun and shoot someone?
Memo to Pep: you've probably noticed it, mate, but Khusa is faster than Rúben. I mean, as in a lot faster.

Very good and convincing win. Partially due to that Newcastle is not very good and played a game midweek while we rested. I think Semenyo was important too this game. His agility makes the defenders difficult to keep an eye on our other attackers. The team need more stability at back. If a better team we will have trouble second half.

Tell you what was good to see.

1. Both teams went for it with no 'low block' shite.

2. No fucking time wasting by keepers.

3. No rolling over and faking head injuries.

4. No lengthy stops for feigning injuries.

It was a good game of football with no real shenanigans.

Yeah I agree, we looked so much better with Khus on....best pass rate of the game at 93% n pace n aggression to burn. Love what Dias has given us but looks like he's running in treacle these days n cant win a header
you seen his bird boxers dont screw for weeks before a fight he'll be banging her every chance he gets

Don’t underestimate how big a win that was tonight. Points more important than the performance and psychologically it puts immense pressure on the bottlers. Had we not have won tonight then they had a bit of a free hit tomorrow. They now know a draw is no good, only a win will do. Khus has to start every game now for me especially when the opposition have some rapid pace up front. Nunes arguably the best right back in the league, NOR tremendous and defensively big Erl was great tonight. Squad strength is improving and Rodri looking better and better each week. On to Leeds next week, take each game as it comes,
