Agreed. They want an urdu speaking vote so cover the urdu speaking vote. Makes total sense. Not exactly hitler killing the Jews now is it. People choose to be annoyed by this sort of thing as plays into their utter nonsense of "they are taking over! It's a sharia state" lol

If no one turned up you'd probably be moaning. Them taking it seriously means they value all of the votes-including yours. They really can't win, and let's all hope neither can Reform.

It’s the first time I’ve lived in a constituency where a by election is taking place and there have been a lot of flyers. Doesn’t bother me to be honest - I even read the Reform ones ha ha - but I’m wondering if it’s the norm for so much literature to be produced when there’s a by election on

I know what you mean but we've only ever been a ridiculously safe labour seat so there was no point spending lots of money of leaflets etc, whereas that isn't the case this time round, predominantly because of the boundary change.

Don't get me wrong I've enjoyed the debate on the doorstep but I don't need 10 flyers from every party to decide who I want or don't want to vote for or maybe some people do need 10 flyers that all say how great they are. The desperation bit was for sending canvassers up from London, although he did admit he felt embarassed about Labour's fuck ups or maybe he was just saying that to appease me. The last one said it was close between Reform and Labour.

Personally speaking I think the whole system we have in place is flawed. 5yrs in government and then another party gets in and it all swings a different way. Too many parties all promising a quick change when the reality is it's not happening cos there's no money in the pot. We need a more long term vision of 20/30 yrs but no party will admit this because its too difficult a sell and also no politician is gonna be in it for that long. Short term career politics and then lets move onto a board of power and cash in and fuck the common man. It's high time we had a cross party put forward in power to work together for the good of the country and put long term plans in place. Instead of this Westminster gentlemans club we have. Two centuries of tradition like Black Rod, men in tights and all the tradition, pomp and ceremony that goes with it means fuck all and nothing will change in my opinion until we have a major upheaval of our political system and on we roll.

My mum was cremated today and there was a swathe of fliers
All in the bin now
 
Starmers visit is being reported by tory press more than traditonal labour press, and quite a few centre right journos bigging up labours chances.
Wierd times when a section of the soft right want a labour win.
of course the gaurdian being neo liberal mouthpiece is firmly pushing the labour charge, while goodwin is MIA and farage too busy concentrating on Ruperts restore lot and his nutcase mate going all maga mental leave it to the mail and guido to tell us about the greens islamist agenda while polanski is also the next hilter.


God it's gonna be a right ding dong the next 2 days

Lost both my parents 4 yrs ago a few weeks apart. My Dad was my hero who took me everywhere and my Mam was the glue that kept everything ticking over but now I think about my Mam all the time and appreciate her and what she did a million times more and it's a bit of a struggle at times. Sorry for your loss and best wishes.

His divorce came through last week - his girlfriend of the last year (yeah they are all Christians and pro-marriage I know) is Eilidh Hargreaves who is a director at Tatler magazine ( London based ) so in the unlikely event he wins expect the "can't do surgeries because the police have said it won't be safe" lie and "cant tell you where I live as its a security risk"
