He could well be 22nd or 24th choice in the squad list next season but every club has a player who is 22nd. If he is not making the squad, people who don't want him there don't have to worry.
The only thing is that Rico down the picking order will be replaced by someone similar who is also down the picking order.
I can see him wanting to leave for more game time but I doubt Pep will be forcing him out

I'm not saying Pep or the club will force him out.

But he is so far down the pecking order that I wonder if he wants that for himself.

Our midfield is in such a state that the trio (Cherki, Foden and Reijnders) can't even start, never mind Nico G.

Yeah good shout, Reis and Mfuni are a shoe in for me down the line making up some numbers.

But I even look at like Mukasa, doing well for Leicester, and has a more physically capable body in midfield, does Lewis get in over him in 2 years?

I'm not sure, he is a great squad backup player, but the team is going to get too big soon.

I suspect we will see a fair number of sales with buy-backs.

Lewis should have took his chance when Forest apparently bid £30m in the summer , because when our squad fitness improves he wont even make the bench for the rest of the season , what i dont understand is his arrogance on the pitch pointing at other players and telling them were to play the ball , when he cant play a forward pass to save his life.
Contrast Foden's supreme talent and lack of confidence to Lewis limited ability and yet appearing to brim with confidence , we love to see academy players come through but Lewis will never be a serious contender to be a starter in a City team.

Its something that I had never noticed. Doesn't come across as arrogant to me but its something I will now look out for.

Tbf although I’ve given the post a Like, I think a degree of arrogance is needed isn’t it? And I mean the arrogance of one person is the confidence of another.

Lewis is a talented player. He also isn't arrogant to me, this is a common misconception that non-minorities have of minorities with confidence. His issue is consistency and not being a great defender but he is still a quality player and do would do well elsewhere. No need to overblow things such as the supreme talent you say Foden has

It's the old story, decent enough player, who's not getting a game and needs to move on.

Decent player, one season without making much of an impact shouldn’t necessarily force him out. Give the lad some slack, and see what happens by the end of the season.

Was class in 23/24 from what we saw now just completely fizzled out of Pep's plans after a few bad performances? You'd expect him to be getting some game time at least.

A few bad performances? He has had several bad ones, he looks good against lower league teams generally in the cups, but ineffective in other games. Pep often has a favoured squad of players for the run in, and doesn't deviate much from it, as games have higher stakes at this point of the season.

When you look at that bench yesterday i can’t think of anyone id want leaving off it for Rico

Despite the new contract, he's surely got to go in the summer for the sake of his career. If everyone is fit at City he doesn't make the bench, as per yesterday.

For me I think the increase in physicality and athleticism in the league in last 2 years has really hurt Rico tbh. Pep really rates Rico, but he won't play him against pretty much any Premier league side now.

Missed out on the bench 2nd time in a row. Now with Kovacic training again, we might not see him till the end of the season, not even on the bench. I was a little surprised he didn't look for at least a loan or something in January.
