On a serious note, this is a result that should drive better politics hopefully
reform have been given a clear fuck off if they think they will walk into power and that not all are fallong fpr theor bullshit
Labour see now what a PR disaster their leadership teams is and that a tactic of copying the right wing to stop the right wing is both stupid and inefective.
Greens are empowered and hopefully become another viable optipn to the traditional 2 party system which reform were (and now restore) hoping to be the only other choice restore.
Congratulations Hannah, lets hope you serve us well
All aboard. What is a the greens view on immigration?
If immigration carries on like it is then I wouldn’t worry as there won’t even be a country .I would rather a Green MP than Reform. Reform would destroy the country for their own enrichment if they got a whiff of power.
Thought so . I have grandkids and I worry for them because if we carry on like we are then this country will be finished .All aboard.
63% of the gorton part are white british or white otherNot sure this result alone damages Reform’s hopes of winning a GE. It’s clearly a very unusual seat with the ethnic and religious make-up differences over the 2 areas.
I think this just tells us that Labour can expect to lose seats to Greens in urban areas like Gorton; seats they would have expected to still win even under Reform surges elsewhere.
63% of the gorton part are white british or white other
95% of the denton part are white british or white other
58% christian
19% muslim
21% no religion
The line that this was a win due to a block of asian muslims is bullshit, plenty white working class people, probably traditonally labour or lib dem chose greens also this time with the tories dropping over 2000 votes most likely to reform and some reports saying green had a very large share of the denton votes.
Framing it as sectarian and about Gaza as the likes of Coates at sky and refrom are is very insulting to the people of the area, myself included
Reform thought they had this at first, straight fight against labour and a win to bllody starmers nose lile runcorn , they never expected the green surge at the start of the campaign.I am saying this is an unusual seat and Reform won’t be losing too much sleep about not winning it….there are plenty of other much easier seats to take off Labour come election day.
That’s true, but if the Greens remain the only party currently addressing the wealth divide and spotlighting elites, it will resonate with voters Reform has taken for granted.I am saying this is an unusual seat and Reform won’t be losing too much sleep about not winning it….there are plenty of other much easier seats to take off Labour come election day.
You’re a chicken celebrating a local KFC opening.Cry some more
This is more likely to trigger a general election and Reform are mostly likely to win overall across the country.
Are you using 2021 census data there? The “boris wave” changed that.63% of the gorton part are white british or white other
95% of the denton part are white british or white other
58% christian
19% muslim
21% no religion
