I do often think payday ends up being a bit of a seat counting myth most of the time, and whilst it's not going to cause a huge surge in sales, it could just help keep things ticking along nicely over the next few daysAnd tomorrow is monthly payday for a lot of blues, so that factor may shift a fair few.
Good news.Block D now opened up for Newcastle
Every little helps ;-)I do often think payday ends up being a bit of a seat counting myth most of the time, and whilst it's not going to cause a huge surge in sales, it could just help keep things ticking along nicely over the next few days
Wow. That's some drop off.the away end will have the usual 2000+ same faces though, all making their 3rd trip there, the reality is thousands just cannot be bothered, Newcastle would have sold 7800 at The Etihad in the same circumstances, i think we just have to be honest. We sold 9000 for spurs away on a friday night a couple of years ago and the branch i am privvy too took 30+ members to that game, for newcastle not one person has applied out of 60 members.
Up to 12 1/2 blocks to L7G (1/2 block)I think 7000 would take us well round the corner, Luton took 7500 there in 2018 and they had a third of the Milburn top tier too.
The Tottenham comparison is slightly disingenuous as their revamped stadium was still a relatively newish experience and for many City fans, it was their only chance of ever attending a match there.the away end will have the usual 2000+ same faces though, all making their 3rd trip there, the reality is thousands just cannot be bothered, Newcastle would have sold 7800 at The Etihad in the same circumstances, i think we just have to be honest. Also, the travel and accommodation options were slicker, cheaper and more accessible.
A third trip to Newcastle in such a short space of time was always going to be a challenge, especially whilst falling in the same month as Wembley and a CL Last 16 game at the ETIHAD. I can think of many reasons for not attending, but "not bothering" is a tad harsh.
Newcastle might have brought more to the ETIHAD, but then again, virtually every away game is a long journey for them, and their whole ticket and coach travel operation simply has to be organised and subsidised differently to ours.
If they are doing that then they are definitely sending blocks back.Good news.
Only 250 showing so far. As each block holds roughly 500 it looks like they've just put half the block on sale and will put the other half on sale if it sells well.

I was a home and away in the 80s/90s.i do agree with you to an extent, i just think a club with 35000 season ticket holders and 140000 members and the most successful club in the last 15 years should be able to sell 7000 away tickets, we profess to be a big club, we are very defensive (me included) when our support is called into question but the truth is all our peers would easily sell out. Yes it is our 3rd trip this season but like i say out of the 10000 or so who will make up the total i guarentee 2000 of those will be making their 3rd trip, where are all those people so desperate to do an away day. I saw your post about a 5 year rolling points system and it makes so much sense, but i still feel it would be the same faces making the same effort.

Loved away trips and was contemplating Newcastle.
But 8pm on a Saturday doesn't just mean the Saturday is a write off but Sunday too.
Wembley 2 weeks later. A CL last 16 tie to pay for; it becomes a VERY expensive few weeks.

I seem to remember getting 100 points for a home LC game against Notts County many years ago.these are exactly the games where loyalty points should be awarded, why not have some flexibility with the loyalty point system to boost sales, and use it for one off occasions, the club should come out and say 100 loyalty points are up for grabs
