Seat Counters 25/26

Sales at an absolute crawl for the Newcastle cup game. This is how it was for the Carabou cup game and City shut off sales and sent blocks back. We might see the same here if members don't suddenly create a rush at 4pm. I don't think they will.

Looking at the speed Wembley tickets flew off the shelves when it got down to members last week, I still think members could take a lot of the slack up here too but it also depends on whether City open enough blocks up for sale.

Then again, I could be totally wrong and there might not be much of a rush at all!

3000 tickets sold in 24 hours is poor?
I think what he's saying is more to do with who qualifies for a ticket and every season ticket holder now qualifies. Also, with the game only 9 days away pretty much everyone who qualifies would've bought one by now. If it was 4 weeks away, that's a different story and they could be left on sale for another couple of weeks

Good point. It's not poor is it? It's the third time we have been to Newcastle, it's a late kick-off with shite transport, everyone is saving up for Wembley or CL games, it will probably be on free TV, people are struggling financially. I'm lucky to be going but would not judge anyone else or criticise the club. Some people just moan for the sake of moaning. Some of them predicted we would not sell out Wembley. Some of them revel in being negative.

Oh I agree, but if its true Newcastle didn't get the ticket information sorted until 24 hours ago (posted on another thread), then 3k is very good so far, another week of sales and be 4k plus for sure

I'm lucky to be going to, only been newcastle for a trip out never the football so be interesting.

8pm on TV doesn't help if you want to go, I'm driving there and back not bothering with a hotel unless I need to find one on the way down due to tiredness.

He's not moaning, he's a seat counter performing mid game analysis.

There’s different ways of looking at it. There’s an argument that a season ticket is now worth a premium to guarantee being sat with friends and family, much like the charge airlines ask for when selecting your seats on a flight, but also to guarantee tickets for the big games. One of the reasons often given for giving up cup schemes is that fans don’t like the fact it’s a different crowd around them (tourists, neutrals, away fans etc) so we can’t have it both ways. I think this idea of selling off singles is a brilliant idea as long as it’s just for the “difficult to fill” matches and is only done in the final week or two of sales. It mostly opens it up to locals who can change plans easier than those from afar.
Yes I guess that’s another take I have no strong views either way tbh

if we sell out the block we have at the moment that will be 3700 in total, the same as what oxford utd took the other year but well under the 5000 that cambridge utd took
