Denton and Gorton by-election - Green Party wins

You misrepresent their policy, then call them crackpots, so you're not in good faith, so there's literally no point trying to refute anything you say because it's not based in reality.

And there it is. Global islamist politics. Genocide happening in Gaza comes directly back to us (And America).

I see your views as evil, and you are responsible for your views, so you are again, souless, selfish and myopic.

I've answered why they leave above, from a view of someone who's worked in the sector. You're completely wrong.
He must have been missing for a while ,I suddenly ,recently started getting ignored content in the football threads I looked and couldn't remember why I'd have blocked him. Looking at his posts in this thread I can see exactly why I blocked him and he'll be staying blocked.Horrible stuff.

They get upset when I give them both barrels, like I should respect their views.

I suggest he looks up the paradox of tolerance.

who the fuck are Democracy Volunteers and what is family voting?

Googled family voting and I can find no reference to it on line until the early hours of today. It couldn't be a pre-prepared excuse for losing invented by Reform Ltd could it?
They're supposed to be impartial so I'm reluctant to call them out. However, Manchester council criticised them last night for not highlighting these "issues" while voting was still going on

The Greens are radical but doesn't their election prove that people want something radical? Politics is not working for people, nothing is working and the same-old isn't working either. People haven't become more radical, they're just being given something to vote for and something that provably could actually win.

The most obvious thing to come out of this is just how screwed Labour are in their current guise. This type of seat is their bread and butter.

With recent events I just cannot see how Starmer can last another week and his critical mistake again was putting himself above party by refusing to allow Burnham to stand.

I think that quite a lot of people don't actually know what they want, or likely everything that a party stands for. The media are very loud on negative reporting and have little to say that is positive about party aims.

Labour - barely any positive media coverage recently (Starmer overseas is good, but I don't think it makes a lot of impact on voting). But in power, and there have been some good things as well as some bad things. No clear successor to Starmer.

Conservatives - still on punishment duty, had Bannon's tanks parked all over their lawn, lost some media support as e.g. the Telegraph/Express have lurched to Reform; struggling to re-define their aim

LibDems - almost zero coverage by media to the point of wilful avoidance, but also seem quiet

Reform - the populists' populist, appears to have over-exposure on media, but have they hit their voting percentage limit? The defectors aren't exactly popular, the councils aren't leading the way to (s)unlit uplands. Can others pin Trump links clearly, will he be hammered for the lunacy of his party statements (like shooting politicians, Russian links, etc). Need to put together a manifesto that stands scrutiny. Contests in Scotland will be important.

Greens - future elections will see whether they're a protest against Labour, a protest against Reform, or a flash in the pan. Need to put together a manifesto that stands scrutiny. Need to have more representation in media that isn't just Polanski.

Family voting is where the clan leader supervises the placement of the X.

The current government is locking people up for speech in record numbers, has cancelled elections and tried to usher in a digital ID card they can track.

Farage and Reform are against all that. Farage has openly criticised Trump and the US recently on his policies.

I think you’ve got a particular perspective on Reform that’s not grounded in what will actually happen. Farage is miles away from fascism.

Get your opinions out whilst you can mate.
You know a thread ban is incoming dont you. Its how this works.

All threads end up echo chambers

Edited: A little telling factoid, only a minor thing, but I already mentioned how this week i've seen dozens of street sweepers combing up and down, cleaning, making the streets tidy, sometimes twice in a single day!

The place has been a shit tip for months and months; why only NOW does Labour decide, and quite heavily, to clean up the area? Because they feared losing it to the Greens/Reform?

Do they only care about the place when they fear losing control? As I said, it's only a minor point, but it highlights for me the neglect and lazy expectation Labour seems to have that people here will vote Labour regardless and they didn't feel they had to actually do the work to keep control over the area.

Today we proved them wrong!

You can bet their funding comes from Tufton Street

And there it is. Global islamist politics. Genocide happening in Gaza comes directly back to us (And America). - Starmer is actively supporting an actual fascist government in Israel with weapons and recon, so he's fair game where regards 'point scoring' or as it's otherwise known, the truth!

I see your views as evil, and you are responsible for your views, so you are again, souless, selfish and myopic.

P.S. - We're owned by Global Islamists. That must stick in your craw a bit, as it's not palatable to you.
I’m not misrepresenting anything, they are actively saying these things, I am repeating them and rightly calling out the problems with what they are saying.

Blaming Starmer for Gaza is ludicrous and you should know that. “Kick Starmer for Gaza” is a shameful tactic. He’s taken positions against the Israeli government in direct opposition to their Gaza policy and whilst no doubt you’ll say he didn’t go far enough, he’s not to blame for what’s happening there.

I’m sat here scratching my head reading what you’re writing but I’m adult enough to recognise people will disagree with me and have a right to do so.

On our owners, they are Muslims, yes, but I don’t see them as the perpetrators of political islamism and exporters of extremism, maybe you do? To me they are allies to the West but maybe you know something I don’t?
