Seat Counters 25/26

I was talking to a young lad at work today.
He's a Bolton fan.
He said he went to a champions League game to watch city.
He said so matter of fact.
Yeah I got a ticket cos you don't sell out .
I wanted to react .
But he was right.
For what ever reason .
And we all know why we don't sell out.
I watched to Blackburn game last week.
And our fans then were amazing.
When we pulled in to park on the coach that day was like Wembley blues everywhere.
I used to think we had the vast fans in the country.
I remember going away to forest just before the spurs quarter final.
My mate is a forest fan.
He said when we were bouncing and singing he could feel the Trent end vibrating.
He said they didn't have fans like that.

What the fuck has happened

Success, 60 games a season, Europe, cost, families, all seated stadium being shit for a few years although still having laugh fictional charges supporters buses alcohol ban GETTING OLD I could go on but I'm sure deep you know

Leicester was after Xmas. Those who were really bothered about loyalty points were already on the cup schemes.

The £95 season tickets pre-dated Cook, he got rid of them in most of the ground and introduced platinum just after the cup win. Also Cat 1 in in SSL went from £28 to £48 within 3 years of him starting, but he got rid of price lists so people were not aware. We still haven't got proper price lists back for PL games after 17 seasons.

In 2011 my kids tickets went from £95 to £190, went up £45 for the U16 add plateman. It was Garry Cook I was on about sorry, not Cooke, I know he once gave away free tickets at a fan thing but he had an accelerated pricing strategy to use most of his words when he was banging the at Mancini's appointment.

Superbia brought out in 2011 cost £1k more than the tickets for me in the previous season as I had a cheaper season ticket, same full adult price only for Kids. Man of the people.
My kids season tickets were definitely £95 when Cook left. I don't know the benefits of Superbia and whether it was worth paying for, but it was a choice thing. That didn't seem to have any downside if you didn't join. Maybe you remember it better than me, but I always felt he was for the fans.

I remember going to pre season at Stockport.
And Oldham the amount of blues was amazing.
Now we have Bolton fans laughing at us..

Can I add I'm part of the problem I don't go anymore.
I'm just watching the Birmingham game pitch invasion before we played Blackburn.
I'm the fat bald fucker in the striped jumper doing a backwards roll.

City at that time was my life.
It was literally everything to me.
Now....
I have to force myself to watch on TV .

On our mini bus the older lads used to sing.
You are my angle .
You are my dove.
You are man city.
Your the one I love .

I love city .
But they don't love me anymore .
Ctid
A Bolton fan knocking empty seats? How ironic.

Possibly but the biggest factor in fans being treated like shit, in my opinion, is the introduction of FFPR/PSR. Prior to that City didn’t need to give a fuck about profit and loss, they could get away with charging fuck all as Mansour could just reach behind the sofa and pull some spare charge out to cover it. Now clubs have to meet income levels or face points deductions (unless you play in Trafford).
In this era of £multimillion sponsorship and TV deals. And corporates paying £thousands a year for posh seats, FFP and PSR are just used to hide behind when it comes to matchday ticket prices. If they got rid of the financial rules I don't believe it would trigger a reduction in ticket prices.

Only in the family stand, Cook wiped them out everywhere else in 2011.

When Platinum was introduced by him in 2011, pay £50 more or lose half your future points, every season.

Superbia get full points still after away and neutral points were dropped for everyone else, so outstrip everyone else by 1,000 or so a season. So everyone else is relatively worse off.

He described football as the "the product", and was about improving the product to charge more. He was certainly no more fan focused than the current CEO.

Newcastle away on a Saturday night is absolutely disgraceful, it's completely uncalled for to have this kick off time.
A further illustration of what we already know, that the authorities don't give a shit about the match going fan.

Sunderland away at Bournemouth today, 12:30 kick off. I read earlier that some of the Sunderland coaches were setting off at midnight. Ridiculous.

Tell the **** that we get crowds that are over double what they get and we did when we were shit and first moved to the new ground. Don’t take empty seat banter off a fucking Bolton fan ffs

Fair points but the corporates are also paying for the Blues on £300 season cards in South Stand L3 who leave ten mins early!

Superbia don't need points, as long as they remain. They just book the tickets when they get the phone call in advance.
And can book extra tickets.
Not many left now.

Or the proper fans turn up and get behind the lads. I don’t expect the Directors to love me. I’ve never had any kick backs an off them and don’t want any.

We have aged and collectively lost some of our passion. Yes some Blues have been priced out but not the ones who could afford Stone Island jacket. All that talk on hoolie videos about being the best dressed was bollox anyway

Regarding other posters making a big deal of we don’t sell out. So what. We win plenty of trophies.

Let’s get that away end at Leeds rocking today.
Enjoy the short journeys today mate!

Just got 2 tickets for Newcastle for me and Mrs SC, absolutely buzzing for it, and make a nice weekend of it.
Brilliant mate, you’ll love it.
Was what we did for the league cup semifinal but that was midweek and cost time off work as well, so won’t be doing it again for the fa cup so soon, but a great evening out to be had :-)

I feel differently. I still love football and love City.
Not going today , wish I was there, can't wait for Wednesday.
The second part about the owner and not caring about club sustainability is pure shit, and reveals a worrying lack of awareness.

60s 70, 80s youth culture included the match because it was shared and cheap, and the facilities reflected that.
Now Youth culture is much changed and includes different substances.

Can’t wait, I’ve been to Wembley but this is my first ‘proper’ away game.

Not looking forward to the stairs mind ;-)

I don’t know what a lot of that has to do with what I said mate?

When the owners first came in, we had very decent prices, I was paying sod all for my season ticket. The club was making huge losses. Now they obviously wanted to make it profitable eventually but there was less burden on clubs across the league to make profits, ticket prices are partly affected by the need to squeeze every penny to meet PSR/FFPR, in my opinion.
