Seat Counters 25/26

It was only 10 points for the Leicester replay, and made a mockery of having the next replay worth 10 x more.

So could have been Cooke involved, as he didn't get it.
Yes that was it. We got 27k for the Leicester replay so Cooke tried it as an incentive. I liked Cooke, it was his idea for the £5 Hamburg game. Not sure if he brought in the kids for fiver tickets, but the kids season tickets were £95 when he was here. I reckon fans would have been treated a lot better if he had stayed.

as our alan turing of seat counting we need you available at all times, you have shown your genius only to leave us all hanging.
He’s a homer. A flat track bully. A false messiah. Some may even say a fraud although I think that’s harsh. You can’t be a hardcore seat counter if you can’t even get access to the planner in the first place. But just that one time he brought something to the game that none of us could so for that reason he’ll always be a legend to me.

Flapjack it the Paul Dickov of seat counting.

Possibly but the biggest factor in fans being treated like shit, in my opinion, is the introduction of FFPR/PSR. Prior to that City didn’t need to give a fuck about profit and loss, they could get away with charging fuck all as Mansour could just reach behind the sofa and pull some spare charge out to cover it. Now clubs have to meet income levels or face points deductions (unless you play in Trafford).

No, the thing that did it for me was the Platinum/Gold choice that allowed fans to buy loyalty, most in fact the vast majority thought it was great, no protests no issues no problem..It was at that point we lost our club. Our club

I was talking to a young lad at work today.
He's a Bolton fan.
He said he went to a champions League game to watch city.
He said so matter of fact.
Yeah I got a ticket cos you don't sell out .
I wanted to react .
But he was right.
For what ever reason .
And we all know why we don't sell out.
I watched to Blackburn game last week.
And our fans then were amazing.
When we pulled in to park on the coach that day was like Wembley blues everywhere.
I used to think we had the vast fans in the country.
I remember going away to forest just before the spurs quarter final.
My mate is a forest fan.
He said when we were bouncing and singing he could feel the Trent end vibrating.
He said they didn't have fans like that.

What the fuck has happened.

I remember going to pre season at Stockport.
And Oldham the amount of blues was amazing.
Now we have Bolton fans laughing at us..

Can I add I'm part of the problem I don't go anymore.
I'm just watching the Birmingham game pitch invasion before we played Blackburn.
I'm the fat bald fucker in the striped jumper doing a backwards roll.

City at that time was my life.
It was literally everything to me.
Now....
I have to force myself to watch on TV .

On our mini bus the older lads used to sing.
You are my angle .
You are my dove.
You are man city.
Your the one I love .

I love city .
But they don't love me anymore .

And they say drugs don't work...

Reminesses of the past over the last few posts.

When we were the cool fans it was cool but, we all got old and many have lost passion, (including me I'm just on Prem games now, binned but domestic cup schemes off this season, there was a time I'd be off to a midweek Plymouth game and in work the following morning) age, match day experience, seen things we thought we'd never see, boredom etc.

The list is endless but for that snapshot in time....we were there and doing it. That can't be taken away, anyone not into football and travelling will never know how much fun it was and what they missed.

You’ve misunderstood my point.

Fair point.
But the facts are the grounds not always full.
And proper fans either can't afford it

Or can’t be arsed.

Or the proper fans turn up and get behind the lads. I don’t expect the Directors to love me. I’ve never had any kick backs an off them and don’t want any.

We have aged and collectively lost some of our passion. Yes some Blues have been priced out but not the ones who could afford Stone Island jacket. All that talk on hoolie videos about being the best dressed was bollox anyway

Regarding other posters making a big deal of we don’t sell out. So what. We win plenty of trophies.

Let’s get that away end at Leeds rocking today.

Leicester was after Xmas. Those who were really bothered about loyalty points were already on the cup schemes.

The £95 season tickets pre-dated Cook, he got rid of them in most of the ground and introduced platinum just after the cup win. Also Cat 1 in in SSL went from £28 to £48 within 3 years of him starting, but he got rid of price lists so people were not aware. We still haven't got proper price lists back for PL games after 17 seasons.

In 2011 my kids tickets went from £95 to £190, went up £45 for the U16 add plateman. It was Garry Cook I was on about sorry, not Cooke, I know he once gave away free tickets at a fan thing but he had an accelerated pricing strategy to use most of his words when he was banging the at Mancini's appointment.

Superbia brought out in 2011 cost £1k more than the tickets for me in the previous season as I had a cheaper season ticket, same full adult price only for Kids. Man of the people.
