Watching BBC Countryfile that is highlighting an increase in hare coursing. The face fines and imprisonment and having their vehicles taken off them - easy fix - arrest people hare coursing take them out back and beat them to fuck - when they get up and walk away beat them up again - all of them - its a cruel punishment but they need to understand what cruelty is and what it feels like.

Same with fox hunting and puppy farm owners and anyone who mistreats animals - they are shallow people who get off on being cruel to animals which in my eyes makes them sub-human. Fuck them all. Forever.

In my opinion it should be, but is hare coursing actually illegal? There used to be a huge meeting on Merseyside IIRC. Nothing shady about it, I think. Not held in some field out in the middle of nowhere.

In the UK, yes.
In Ireland, no, although under specific controls.

I’m pretty sure it is illegal, J.

I think it was outlawed in the late '70s or early '80s.

If it was 2005, Blair was PM.

errrr...the idea behind hare corsing is not to kill the hare, its to make it change direction. Just saying.

We were working on a roof in winter a few years ago and a snowshoe hare appeared about a quarter of a mile away on the drive/ road.Eagle eyed Rude Dog, a Springer Spaniel saw it immediately and took off after it at full pace. We were all cheering the dog on and she was trying to impress the crew, running at full sprint. The hare finally saw the dog and jumped into the snow, it was like it had twin turbos, they can leap about twelve feet at a time and just don’t sink. Rude Dog jumped into after it and was immediately swamped, flailing around, it was so funny, she walked back with her head held low
