Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Mate, this is the message of the season about arse anal , the cheating, crying, diving, time wasting, thug cheating bastards... We now don't play the best football but when the referees judged their games fairly, they should be now minimum 10 points behind us !!!
And would be if we hadn't pissed away so many points from winning positions.

we all know how Arteta will set up for that game, unless we need to win.

Even a few seasons ago when you needed to win against city during a run in, Arteta didn't set you up to win and I'd say you played much better football then than you do now. So I really don't see Arteta setting you up to go at us.

It'll be Arsenal players looking for corners and set pieces while trying to cripple city players and trying to fiddle their way to a draw but hoping they can nick a win.

That's the big difference between the teams. Many people may have it in for city but nobody can deny we turn up to get a draw. We always set up to win and actually turn up to play football, not fiddle and maul our way through games trying to nick it. So did Liverpool for that matter, cant stand them but they won titles by playing with intent. That's why I hope Arsenal fall at the final hurdle, not just because we can win it, but because of how they approach games. Shithouse football and getting away with murder on corners.

Who says we aren't expecting to lose at the Etihad? That's 100% our toughest game all season. I know Ratboy said we'd win there but we all know how Arteta will set up for that game, unless we need to win.

Thing is our defence isn't anywhere as solid as it was earlier in the season so I think to get a point we'll need at least 2 goals and Donnarumma has a hex on us.

I think we need you guys to drop points in 2 more games for us to win the league.

I call in on most forums and youtube vlogs mate, from time to time, including a number of Arsenal's....and most of the fans on there are confident that this is finally their season, and are confident of winning at the Etihad .... and you aren't gonna tell me that, with the game rapidly approaching, most, if not all, of your players won't believe they can win it !

Both teams have at least three league fixtures to play before that game though, so anything can happen, points can be dropped ... and usually where you least expect it too!

I think most City fans would have been content with better performances than we've had, but also finishing third this season - all being well. That was the level of our expectation.

The fact that we're such a close second to Arsenal says more about Liverpool's drop-off and Arsenal's lack of improvement than saying anything about us, as Arsenal really should be coasting the league with the squad they've got. They're capable of playing good football but, as the season's gone on, the focus on set-pieces has become greater - not surprising, given their success with it.

Imho, there is a lot to be said for not putting in a last ditch tackle in order to give away a corner against them - just let the ball come into the box as you've got a better chance of keeping them out from open-play than you have from any set-piece. We know that ref's and VAR are not going to help City on set-pieces.

We've got a couple of fascinating games against them to look forward to, and if we can focus on keeping the ball and playing our best football as far away from our box as possible, it might yet be our greatest season, because - let's face it - we had very low expectations going into the season and winning any trophy was just a dream. Getting to a final and finishing 2nd in the league now looks to be our minimum achievement, so, well done to Pep already.

Arsenal are rightly desperate to win this title but I believe there's an equal desperation to be loved, to be respected. Even if they win the PL, I don't think they will achieve what they are truly after and this team won't be remembered with any fondness.

Arsenal at home are negative they are playing the % football of the 80’s 90’s and 00’s be solid win free kicks win throw in win corners then have the best players at attacking those corners! But funny the holding of players now is allowed! It might well get them over the line and that’s all Arteta fans want they don’t care! If they don’t win the league or champs league though they’ll be a lot of scrutiny on it all..

I well remember Arse coming to Maine Road in the early 2000's and absolutely hammering us. We were 4-0 down at HT after which they literally toyed with City. Thierry Henry was unplayable that day and he got a standing ovation from City fans. It really was wondrous to behold - light years away from the current Arse team with their pushing & shoving tactics.

Is that a game where Carlo Nash came in for a rare start and we were 3-0 down in about 20 minutes?

I think the Carabao Cup final might be telling if one team wallops the other.

Don’t forget after the recent Trossard concussion debacle you declared you were finally done with Arteta

No backtracking now
No backtracking. I feel at times he is an excellent (but conservative) tactician but is out of his depth emotionally. IMHO he should have stayed with Pep another year or 2 but of course the Arsenal gig would have gone to someone else.

Been saying it a while.

Artera is Pulis with a bigger budget
i think a lot of those Arsenal players, and Arteta, are not doing their careers any favours. Playing for such a iimited team with such dinosaur tactics is ruining their reputations. For example Saka has gone backwards and so has Martinelli and Odegaard. There is no creativity in this Arsenal team at all. It is not, and never has been, about winning at all costs. Barcelona, Real Madrid, City, Liverpool, United, all had success and thrilled crowds playing with creativity and style. Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Matt Busby, Joe Mercer, Brian Clough, all knew that style was everything. I don't think David Silva or someone like Liam Brady would even get into this Arsenal team. I really don't understand why Arsenal fans are happy with Arteta. Stuart Pearce got us within a penalty kick of qualifying for Europe. The football he produced with City was a disgrace and our crowds fell below 40,000 for the only time in the modern era.

Another Arsenal player who I actually rate but I think has gone backwards is Saliba. I don’t think he looks anything like the player he was a couple of seasons back

That matters very little to professional players = winning IS the objective. Fans of winning teams rightly do not give a sh*te about what other fans think!
