Nottingham Forest (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

- Rodri is becoming a pivotal point again and as a result the back two are splltting and we have worked out how to bring Donnarumma into the game to get the extra man.
- Semenyo is a physical presence an nuisance which makes split decisions on the man marking on Haaland and the movement he does.
- Cherki is pulling the strings.
So now we resorting to signing players are a physical presence and a nuisance..wonderful!

Well I don't think it's all over even though that result is disappointing. But equally I don't think we're good enough to take advantage of any Arsenal slip ups - we're just not quite there.

Phil a concern.

Sunderland, Chelsea, Brighton, Spurs, Forest - all since Jan. 10pts dropped there. In 4 of those 5 we also chucked away winning positions. That's where the title went when we do the analysis in the summer.

Bottom line, we've not been good enough. This is a team being remoulded. On our day we can beat just about anyone - but you don't trust them; you can't having seen what we have since the turn of the year as we keep throwing in Mickey Mouse results.

On to the Cups and hopefully trophies we can win because Arsenal could lose 23-0 at our place and still coast in. The league is but a distant hope now and an extremely unlikely one if we are honest with ourselves.

Apparently VAR dismissed City’s penalty appeals because the contract on Rodri was “inconsequential” while the shirt pulling on Haaland had ended before the ball arrived! Not quite sure why we didn’t get a penalty when the keeper felled Erling. Am I right in thinking VAR doesn’t apply the rules for us. Had it been Saka ….

Donnarumma 7
Nunes 4 Dias 7 Guehi 5 Ait Nourri 6
Rodri 7 Bernie 7 Foden 3
Cherki 5 Semenyo 6 Haaland 5

Really disappointing but remember the Sunderland 2-2 game in 2012 (different circumstances in that we came back after a great Balotelli cameo) but we came away thinking the league was gone. A lot can still happen. Credit to Forest.

Steady on pal! Don't come on here with your positivity.

Apologies. I just thought it was a real refreshing game of football. Both teams fighting for the points. We gave it everything to get the winner, Forest defended for their lives. Yes we should have won, yes we now need Arsenal to slip up, but play like that regularly and we will canter to the title next year and never say never this campaign either. Got it all to play for still.

Easy, I don't throw in the towel every time we don't roll the other team 4-0 and I understand we're not going to win every game. - Nobody thought Arsenal was gonna drop points to Brentford and especially Wolves, but they did.

I know these threads are for kneejerk reactions but it's the same shite every time we don't win (And sometimes even when we do.)
You migh not be ready to throw in the towel, but the team we both support has been doing it all season. And with regard to 4:0 results, that is a distant past.

What dreamland are you living in? Have you not noticed that the majority of teams we have been playing over the last few years in the Premier League have a lot of bigger players and some of them can actually play football?

Absolutely gutted but let's be honest, we've been scraping through by the skin of our teeth week after week and it's masked consistently abysmal second half displays throughout the season. Don't get me wrong, some great results as well but even they have been more of a pleasant surprise than expectation.

2 years into the rebuild and can't really see the answers having spent significantly apart from the goalkeeper and possibly semenyo's goals.

Foden, marmoush, savinho all probably need moved on. Kova will also be gone, probably Bernardo.... A rebuild AFTER a rebuild?? Fuck me.

If I'm in Nico G's camp I'm also wondering about his future. What a fantastic player but evidently excommunicated for whatever reason.

Top 4, maybe a cup and it's still a satisfactory season but when you're used to being top dogs it doesn't feel like it unfortunately.
