47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

He certainly isn’t going to get the big renewal he wants based on the last two seasons. I think there might be a serious conversation in the summer if he doesn’t snap out of it, given his contract status

If Txiki was still here I don't think he would be going anywhere.

Viana on the other hand has no sentimental ties to him, and if anything has only ever known Foden in his current state.

I am pretty sure Viana will be looking at Foden and what he has produced over the last 18 months/ 2 years and be advising against any contract renewal on larger wages. Especially when that contract renewal is likely going to be in the £300k a week ballpark.

Anderson’s goal came from Foden being done by the simplest one-two then giving up and MOVING OUT THE WAY when Anderson got the return. Embarrassing
Seconds before that he was moaning at the ref that we didn't get given a decision.

The first goal, we were very comfortable recycling the ball and someone lost possession....

He’s poor. Can’t control a game. Doesn’t contribute enough going forward (1 assist, 0 goals in last 18 games) and isn’t anywhere near good enough defensively.

I’d personally be sounding out buyers.

Reijnders offers more but isn’t from Stockport so gets no leeway.

I worry for Phil, Viana at Sporting was ruthless during the rebuild. Even high earners that were crucial to Sporting were let go for new players that the data said would fit better. We've now been linked with within two weeks , Gibbs White , Sergio Gomez and Felix Nmecha that are similar profile to foden.

He has one year left on his contract though mate.

It will either be a contract extension and £300k a week in the summer or sold somewhere like Barca.

I think the latter occurs.
Good point.

Yeah, think this could be the end, which is devastating. He's not right physically or mentally and needs to heal. Maybe a sunny foreign country is what he needs. Right now I think he's going to go the way of Dele Alli, unfortunately.

Must have been watching a different game than others on here , tonight he was showing for the ball and not hiding , he had an OK first half but looked jaded after the break and should have been subbed earlier , his confidence is shot at the moment and he desperately need a goal to help him along the way back.
Phil Foden is a superb footballer and will be back with a vengeance , people writing him off as the next Dele Ali can only make him more determined

The season before last, this man was the PL player of the season.Sad and totally bewildering to see his form fall off a cliff.I doubt even he wanted to start tonight, but Pep thought better. Not sure he got it right there….

This. I was fuming. He was pedestrian and just watched them pass around him. Watched him when it went in too.. he did a little jump and waved his arms about as if he was blameless when it was all down to him.

Does that a lot. Spends most of the game whinging at team mates and throwing his arms about. I see where Haaland gets it from.

Used to have leaders in the side, ones who would make a difference when things got tough - not throw sulks.
