Nottingham Forest (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I thought we played well but sit back yet again when we take the lead. From now on just go for it.
The lack of any real intent to try to attack and score more goals once we take a lead is a joke. Always seem content just to try to see the game out, would be okay if we knew the defence was strong enough not to concede. Remember the days when we used to go 2 or 3 goals up in the first 20 mins or so and then could ease off, now it’s just football at walking pace

I am sure that this has already been mentioned but the three draws at home in 2026 have cost us big time. Each one has been due to us not being able to not finish teams off when we had the opportunities to do so.
On a side note finally glad to see the first league goal scored at the North Stand end in 2026!

yet but it was big balls foden that let him run into space i think you need rethink above statement
We don't back each other up when we need to ..... if Foden doesn't do a job properly then others need to make sure they do it, and give him a right bollocking at their first opportunity .... we continually struggled to get shots in because Forest worked hard, and covered for each other almost all night, they didn't think about it, they just did it !

Just got back from the match and reading some very OTT reaction.

I have never thought we would be good enough to win the title this year and didn’t get carried away after the last few wins.

We are in transition and have made some progress from the ‘fall off the cliff ‘ team of last season, however we still lack some real quality, especially in Midfield….I’m sure Anderson would be a good addition btw.

Sad to see Foden struggling…..he is no longer a game changer and he doesn't get into the side when everyone is fit.

For all the flack Savinho has come in for on today’s thread, I thought he looked ok when he came on and at least was able to beat his man.

It would be a totally different match thread had we grabbed the winner right at the end….small margins !

I think 4 in a row has spoilt some people who have become very entitled !

Savinho did more in 10 Minutes than Foden did in 60
No he didn't he was shit.

Foden was poor which was disappointing as I hoped for more but if you think Savinho added anything you are mistaken.

Missed a fucking sitter to win it.

I just don't see anything in him, complete waste of fucking time.

I literally said to my lad at weekend, him coming back could derail our season because Peo will play him.

True, but when you see the shit decisions Rags and Dips get for pens (Cunha most recently) then they are pens!
I've no doubt that Liverpool, United or Arsenal would have been given the type of penalty where Haaland was floored by the keeper tonight, and we probably should have been given it too ... but our general play should be testing opponents more than what it's currently doing ...... to be relying on being granted a spot kick is always 'iffy' because referee's are inconsistent with their decisions.

Haaland one is 100% penalty. Sels takes out his right foot regardless of the level of contact. This will be given 99/100 times in the PL. Today they decided that a 3-1 would have killed the game and instead wanted a show.
As much as I hate those decisions, every other team in the league gets that, unless it's against a favoured red shirt.

As far as the 'penalties'-that-weren't-given are concerned, remember that in one case Erling was running away from goal - if he'd even have caught the ball before it went out - and in the other Rodders had already taken the shot.

Had neither 'foul' been committed we wouldn't have been any better off - a penalty in either case would have been good fortune, a bonus.

Not the same as point-blank chances being denied, is it?

Moaning about not getting good fortune is denying the plain fact that we failed to put away a relegation-threatened team.

Indeed but it's down to him to look at the players he has and understand if they can carry out what he wants or not and then make adjustments to how we go about things if they can't.

But maybe that's too much to ask. Every manager has the way they like to play and that's pretty much set in stone. That's not a bad thing, the last think you want is an indecisive manager.

The reality is that I think even if we adopted an approach that our players would seem more suited to, it wouldn't guarantee anything because I think the depth of our current squad only makes us good enough to be about where we already are. One might argue its only Pep's presence and know now making us contenders still. We won't know until Pep has gone.

With or without Pep, we need some more added quality and I mean real world class quality, not just good solid players picked off from other clubs lower down the league.
Hear hear. Great points.
The intelligence along with our intensity has dropped significantly in recent seasons.
