Nottingham Forest (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Our long range (and not so long range) shooting is abysmal. Against that type of packed defence you have to be able to have a pop now and again but there were some truly amateurish shots from Foden, Cherki, Doku, RAN - probably missed some others too.

Phil Foden is the elephant in the room, a creative midfielder who doesn't create, doesn't take chances, devoid of confidence, takes the safe pass every time and not with any conviction, I don't see a place for him in his present form which has gone on for 2 season bar a little renaissance earlier this season, he was the extra body in midfield we didn't need which in turn left the front men short of bodies, an awful decision by Pep and an awful performance from Phil, hate to call him out but at the level we are at and our expectations it's nowhere near good enough
Yeah but, hes one of our own

He missed an open net in the last minute.

He could even have poked it to Haaland if he wasn’t confident he had the space to place it (he did btw).

If it drops to literally any other player it’s a goal.
You mean the multiple blocks involving several players?
I watched a player beating the LB continuously during his limited time on the pitch after injury.
He came on on 82 minutes. Blaming a player coming on on 82 is preposterous when the rest of the team have conceded two goals despite their dominance.

Of course we are still in a title race, but we gave them a massive lift and pressure release tonight, it feels significant to us and it probably is.
They will 100% be thinking that we are potentially only one point behind with our game in hand and us beating them at ours. That will be in the back of their head each and every game they play. 27 points still to play for, 24 for them. There will be another twist or two to this race.

I think it’s going down to the last day.

When the penalty call on Haaland was completely ignored by the idiotic referee and VAR I feared the worse - and it came to pass - they equalised. Of course, I have blue tinted glasses but the unbelievable decisions by the officials (VAR) in the game convinced me there is an agenda to prevent City from challenging for the title. (Example of their insistence that City do not challenge Arsenal - 95/6-minute Sels tips a goal bound effort over the bar - goal kick! Say no more)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slow turgid shite, I never thought we'd win the league this season, but to get ourselves in a strong position and turn in a performance like that as left me angry.
It was walking football, no intensity, apart from Rodri the midfield was awful, Peps picking players who are off form and I don't know why.
Just before we scored our second, Ake was stripped and ready to come on, why, he ain't getting us a winner, when we scored he went with Kush.
We've blinked first, and the goons should go on to win the league, we'll drop more points, too inconsistent, need big improvement intensity and drive or our season could be finished in the next fortnight.

It wasn’t a penalty, so they were right bit to give it. What isn’t part of their agenda was to give us an injury time penalty away at anfield, which brought us right back into the race.

Short memory?

If only we had an FA cup tie coming up that we could give him a run out in.

The thing is, everyone knew that England would be heavily involved in decisions that went against us before a ball was kicked, and they were 100% right. It wasn’t just the pens, there were numerous fouls not given that are always given. Really dodgy officiating last night

It was like watching a slow motion car crash last night. Yes the officials don’t help but we don’t help ourselves playing a high line with Dias in the team etc.

Perhaps it was because it was a penalty?
Exactly. However if they wanted to, to stop us winning the league, a last minute penalty away at anfield is something they could have bodged up.

You are correct though, it was a penalty and it was correctly awarded. Brought us right back into the race. Mentally damaging Arsenal.

Mentally damaging arsenal for correctly implementing the rules?
Mentally damaging us last night for not. Took us a little bit further away from the title.
