Nottingham Forest (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

The drop of from the treble squad and seasons before is alarming.
We should be thankful the pl has been poor the last two seasons.
Up until that Sunderland game City were playing with freedom, tricks, quick one touch football. Then Cherki did that cross for Foden to head in.
Pep said he didnt like to see that.
City then went back to pass, pass, back, back, pass, pass.
I honestly feel if City had carried on playing in the style before that Sunderland game we would have walked the league.
The players look scared to make the wrong pass, or take a risk, its safety first.

Semi scores goals but I havent much much else from him. Even he plays safe. I thought he was a flying winger who scored goals, i havent seen the flying winger part of his game.

i'm a pretty matter of fact person, and football winds me up for all of about 28 seconds, but that is the first game of the season that really got under my skin and had me saying "fuck sake" again, as soon as i opened my eyes this morning.

Forest certainly fought better than some, plus they have some decent players to cause problems up top. I actually thought Rodri was a bit shit last night, but the main issues were Foden & Haaland, plus Nunes was a poor outlet on the right. Semenyo goes quiet but he's still dangerous.

League done for me probably get turned over at Newcastle Saturday night now and not bothered at the moment about those shithouses Madrid..
I was wondering after last night, very sadly I might add, if the wheels might just come off our season in the next couple of weeks.
No guarantee we beat the Barcodes again, then we've got the shithousery of madrid to look forward to.
If we don't up our game considerably, by the morning of 18th March we COULD be looking at a pile of rubble. Equally we up our game and things look much brighter.
C'mon blue boys which version of you is going to rock up?????

We just are far too easy to get points off ? We don't have a winning mentality
The title was not lost tonight, it was handed on a plate to Arsenal and that is what hurts.

Ok, maybe we are not ready and this team should be a long way out off the race for the title, but giving points away at home is a real killer and sometimes you have to blame the manager and the setup, We don't go for the kill anymore and we struggle to hurt teams because the ball is stuck in midfield and passed to death.

Haaland should be asking where is the service ? crossing it ? i dont think one single cross when it to Haaland until it was far too late, also again Pep and making his subs far to late

You know what, all the haters tonight blaming Foden need to look at the manager and it's Pep that played him and then bypassed him by hiding the play in midfield ? Pep setup doesn't attack enough to hurt teams. he wants control of the ball and then hides it by going side to side then back to the defenders.

Tonight, Pep knew this was over and waved the white flag and said to Arsenal well done on winning the title
Many have said earlier in the season that Pep just lets the games go far too easily and doesn't have anything to offer in the changes until it to late,

Also, what I saw coming from Haaland's mouth at the end is going to be a big problem in the dressing room ? He was not happy with Pep and his attacking setup. Haaland should be bagging a hatful of goals, but instead he's struggling to even have a clear-cut chance
Erl is always on the wrong side of the keeper on corners.
Erl should be in front of him and then he can either head the ball to another player or get a shot at goal.
It would also make it difficult for the keeper to get a clear view of exactly where the ball is.
That's what I think.

The reality is we are not good enough to win it unless it be handed to us gift wrapped. That performanve against the rags was truely awful and for that shit performance alone we don't deserve it. Hopefully we can at least win the final coming up and take something from the season to build upon.
We've done alright since the Rags, don't forget they beat Arse too, away

People comparing us to our better versions are wasting their time.

Arse are nothing special either.

Foden Cherki silva all about not given the ball away they all slow the play down which is great at 2 up! When it’s not 2 up we should be playing 1/2 touch football move faster quicker intent! Last 10 mins we did that! Seems it’s all about control which is great at 2 up!

Think we saw the 0-1 at Leeds because we couldn’t keep the ball which meant we had plenty in the box defending deep! There goals came from transition last night!

Think pep still wanted to get through a game without Doku and Marmoush not been that great! When Doku came on he didn’t do much either!

Foden is genuinely i think mentally gone with football now or maybe just at City due to the sheer volume of success?

Yep, Semenyo scored a good goal, almost scored again with a cracking free kick, and put a superb ball right across the Arsenal six yard box that none of his teammates reacted to successfully ..... he did okay ..... others, such as the ones you mention, were well below par when we clearly needed them to be somewhere near the top end of their game.

Forest were gutsy and willing .. but it was up to OUR players to build on the win at Leeds, take responsibility and overcome them.

You can't allow someone the time and room to take a shot at goal like we did with Anderson, and especially when you HAVE to win the match .... any shot has a 50/50 chance of going in, and we needed to react better .... i wonder how many shots Brighton lined up at Arsenal's goal last night that were charged down or blocked as they doggedly defended a lead from the 2nd minute of the match !

It’s confidence mainly he never been through this it’s always been an upward curve to then win player of the season! He has to player through it and pep has him dropping back more now which is not his game!

First half was unexplainably flat and so was the atmosphere.

We've not been good enough or consistent enough this season so it's a bit surprising we're even in a title race. But somehow we are.

You watch. Next time out in the league we will beat West Ham after Everton nick a point at Arsenal and it's back on again !

It's the hope that kills you....

How many time this season have people said including me right it's over now. It ain't over until it's fucking over we've got a long way to go. And arsenal are mentally fragile.
And we're proffesionaly fragile...in most departments. If, and it's a very big IF, we do somehow win the league, it will be due to other teams fuck ups .
