Made an out of form Real Madrid look like Real Madrid. Maybe pep did not realise the group stages have finished and thought it was one leg.
And fucking drop the traffic cone up front while he's at it, fat chance of that happening thoughReminds me a bit of England under Sven. Picking his favourites over who’s in form. Marmoush should have started that game last night. After his performance on Saturday just get him in the team!
I'm talking about open play - however, I agree he doesn't get the quick ball over the top enough.Well that wasn't really the question. Haaland gets no service from midfield in open play. We can talk all day about how he's got three guys trying to tackle him on corners. No doubt about that. But he gets no love from anyone from the middle or wings. So he just stays static, gets angry, gets mopey and then pretty much disappears. Its not him, its our style of play.
Pretty much agree that.We were out-thought and out-played. I never expect that of our team, but it does happen occasionally.
Nobody played well, though you could argue that Doku and Rodri did despite a lack of support for both.
There is little point playing wingers unless your striker is attacking the six-yard box.
We were vulnerable to the counter and to their pressing. If they play a counter-attacking game next week then we will be similarly vulnerable if we play the same line-up. Nunes at RB and Khusanov at RCB will nullify that, as will a more physical presence in central midfield.
For me, that means a back four of Nunes, Khusanov, Guehi, Ait Nouri, with Rodri and O'Reilly or Gonz in front. In front of that, I would have Cherki, Doku, Savinho and Marmoush. Others will disagree but we will have to attack, but have the physicality to press, and to win the ball when it is turned over.
We do live to fight another day, but it will take a monumental effort to go through, and some luck.
Meanwhile, the BT commentary team will be loving it.
did them in the same stage in 2020 mate when kev scored a pen and jesus scoredSo; apart from one epicly (made up word?) glorious occasion, how many times have we actually knocked out Madrid in these past few seasons? They have our number, unfortunately.
That had completely slipped my mind, obviously. You've got a better memory than me. The side effects of being an FOC.did them in the same stage in 2020 mate when kev scored a pen and jesus scored
Quite simple really. They know Pep will overthink itSo; apart from one epicly (made up word?) glorious occasion, how many times have we actually knocked out Madrid in these past few seasons? They have our number, unfortunately.
What puzzles me more than anything this season is the inconsistency. After Newcastle we said, wow, finally, all attacks with a purpose. Had we learnt? No, Pep and team reverting to type. High defensive line, purpose-less sideways passing, running into opposition causing counters. How many times?
Nope, it isn't .. although 3-0 might make it interesting ..... however I can see Madrid scoring again. How many games have we won 4-0 this season?
Not going to happen is it.
