Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Interesting! Me I’ll back pep every day of the week and always think there is a reason to what he does squad wise team wise, as fans if we can’t give him that for what he has achieved for us yep backed to the hilt as in free reign to do what he thinks best. at moment think pep knows this team needs them some are not good enough and when he knows that he is prone to tinkering more! I’m excited to see next season how we do..
To be fair a lot of people said that last sentence this time last year. Excited might not be the best adjective to use.

Fair enough. Question: are we a better side with Cherki on the pitch?

Yes.. I raised this point before when a player is as talented as Cherki and Cherki is willing to learn from pep wants to leant pep is more harsher! Foden is the example! But that is a positive for the player but not for the team for me! It’s the only explanation because if it’s because he give the ball away well a quote a few of our players do that.. think form now on pep will play Cherki the rest of the season

Yeah but don’t think many people expected us to win the league this season when you looked at who Liverpool bought and Arsenal! It’s all hindsight now because pep is that good a manager he has us where we are so deep into the season.

Good to see some perspective. I didn'r expect a title challenge either.

Pep is making mistakes (they all do) but he's making far more good decisions.

Just feels.like an end of an era.
Felt a bit sorry for him stuck in the stands.
Dont think the players are playing for him anymore.

We’ve also spent half a billion ourselves…

People keep saying we're second is pretty annoying. We've played crap for large parts of the season and when we finally had the league in our own hands we bottled it (like a load of people kept saying Arsenal would do). Whoever replaces Pep is on a hiding to nothing and sooner rather than later we need to start looking at replacements.

Arsenals have played crap for most of the season took them 6 years so fairs they found the formuler

The club structure & circumstances was slightly different & they wasn't in charge for anywhere near as long but yh i think they would both have won more titles going forward but not as many as Pep.

My point was about the champions league mainly, do you think neither would have won one by now?

No, I don't really. Pellegrini got us to the Semis and we were as meek as I have us ever seen us in a CL game. Bobby Manc didn't get past the group stages, fell out with a lot of players, backroom staff etc and was unlikely to progress in Europe because of it. There's not really much to infer that they would have done well in Europe or won multiple leagues. They both flamed out in the seasons they were sacked in.

It's incredibly difficult to win the Champions League and it's even harder to repeatedly win the Premier League. I'm more than happy to criticise Pep when I think he's made a poor decision, but we can't diminish his achievements.

The last line was where I was at last season but having witnessed the entertainment this season, excited isn’t a word I would use. Sure HV hasn’t helped Pep but Pep doesn’t help himself either with selections.

I have no problem posters criticising Pep, but some of the comments are out of order. Yes he is stubborn, he makes mistakes and his team selections are questionable sometimes, but comments like obtuse are ridiculous

I wouldn’t read too much into the nonsense that gets posted, by some, on here and by the sounds of it on social media.
Listen to the support Pep gets at away matches and most home matches. Regular match going fans are more forgiving than the echo chamber that the internet provides.
Most real fans appreciate everything Pep has done for our club. Some are disappointed/frustrated by the drop off over the past 18 months but also are long enough in the tooth to realise that a major overhaul takes time. I for one, à glass half full rather than empty bloke, am willing to give the Boss more time.
We will never, ever see his like again so I’m going to enjoy it whilst it lasts.
And win, lose or draw, I’ll always get behind the team and manager.
