Pep to leave at the end of the season

I know I keep saying this on the charges thread. Ever since Pep's first post charges press conference, i've felt a big big reason Pep is staying, is a mix of spite and loyalty as a result of the charges. I feel he has commited himself to going nowhere till the charges are done with, and will keep extending as long as they hang over the club. I think he may have gone after the treble or 4 in a row, but that being unresolved, he's not moving. Just my own feeling, deep in my bones.
I feel the same way mate. I actually think it’s a good signal he’s expecting us to win it, which can only come from what he’s being briefed by his bosses.

Kompany at this stage is the emotional fans choice.

Did well at Burnley when the going was good in the Championship, had somewhat of a rude awakening in the Premier League although Burnley seem like one of those clubs that would get relegated no matter who was managing them.

I don't follow German football enough, or watch much of it, to be able to accurately judge his Bayern team. But winning the Bundesliga with Bayern is akin to winning Ligue Un with PSG. It's expected, and a failure if you don't. Let's see how Bayern do in the Champions League, they failed their first big test at Arsenal, the knockout stages and the pressure that comes with that will tell us a lot.

I think we'd all love Vinnie to lead the City team and do it well. But I feel he'd be better suited as the manager after the manager after Pep. Gives him more time to develop and grow, without the pressure of succeeding Pep, and given the cyclical nature of football it might be a good "I've taken them as far as I can" point with Bayern.

Post-Pep (which I think is Summer 2027) I think we'll be looking at a steadier pair of hands and someone with more experience, like Enrique or Nagelsmann. Despite Maresca's name getting thrown about, I see this as agent's talk on his behalf to boost his profile rather than a serious interest from the City side, despite his last working at the club.

Everybody is so eager to get Pep out of here.. WTF?
My personal inkling(and hope) is that Pep signs another 2 years just to shut that BBC rentagobshite Noncesoon(or whatever his name is) up. Then in 3 years when Vinnys contract expires at German Rags,he comes home. Hopefully Vinny will have learned a lot in these next 3 years(if still at the club that is) and is ready to accept the challenge.

Whose CV is actually better between Kompany’s and Maresca, taking the emotion out of it?

Make sure the person is hands on with the players and quite emotional.

We don’t want a robot or someone who doesn’t buy into the city way.

Far too many clubs have turned corporate and appoint based on numbers/facts. The owner isn’t invested in the person. It trickles down to the players. The club will get it right when the time comes. Khaldoon will need to make sure he is the one involved with the new coach.

Enrique
Komps

Maresca: Championship by 1 point, Club World Cup with an unfancied team, Conference League, 4th in Premier League (with a shambles of a squad, it's worth mentioning)
Kompany: Championship by 10 points with one of the highest ever points totals (but then relegated), Bundesliga by 13 points with a team that finished 18 points off the pace in the previous season, German Supercup

They've both got a decent enough CV really, but also both would be a gamble.

I completely agree with your sentiment there.

Having a brother that supports a team Maresca managed in Leicester he said that Championship season was incredible but it was one point at the end, as Leicesters performances dropped out of no where at the end of the season.

They looked completely different to what Leicester looked like at beginning of the season and half way through.

his system in the championship was defence heavy , possession based system with inverted fullbacks. Making a box in midfield using Winks and Ndidi to suffocate midfields

In his opinion it was like having their own Pep. My brother doesn’t understand why City fans are against him coming as he’s quality manager and closest to Pep in his opinion.

He did joke saying that if we did sign Maresca that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall would follow as that’s Marsecas football son.

He also added that he’s a lovely guy really nice and the players loved him and he embraced the club

I agree, neither is 'proven' as such, both have done well and won things with both unfancied and well invested-in squads. Not much to tell them apart that way.

Maresca did however shit the bed with how he conducted himself and how left both clubs, where's vince handled relegation pressure with dignity and left Burnley amicably. And handled sonfar the expectations at bayern.

Think the club do take things like that into account imho.

All hypothetical obviously, as I still don’t think Pep is leaving ss soon as people expect.

If PSG win another Champions League which is quite likely what are the chances of Luis Enrique saying I've done all I can here.
